SoCalRob Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Went to BPS last week and couldn't help but pick up a War Eagle 3/8 oz. spinnerbait in Firecracker...one of the best looking spinnerbaits I own and have laid eyes on... Anyways long story short...second cast get slammed...nice 3 lber. I'm stoked. SO I fire out another cast and the bait isn't running right. I try everything to get it going and NO luck, including bending the wire, changing positioning of knot, checking swivels for weeds, etc. Turns out the weighted head is partially disconnected from the wire and I'm pretty sure the metal wire is already bent. I'm gonna contact War Eagle and see if I can get a replacement. Anyone else having durability issues with War Eagle baits? They sure CATCH fish, but one fish isn't gonna cut it when I'm spending $6+ on a spinnerbait. In that case, I'll stick to my Strike King 3.49 Walmart baits...at least they last. - Rob Quote
dman Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 yea, lots of experiance with them! must of been a lemon or got dropped pretty hard or something...Ive never had an issue, thats one of the things that keeps me using war eagles is that they always run great Quote
SoCalRob Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 I guess I will contact War Eagle...see what they say Quote
Chad. Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Lol at least your still had a blade on it... My booyah colorado blade fully came off and the wire was cleanly broken off no fish either Quote
Super User David P Posted August 21, 2009 Super User Posted August 21, 2009 I've caught a few 3-6lb stripers on them and haven't had a problem at all, and the stripers fight a lot harder. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I bought a few on discount at Wal-Mart and they seem to hold up better than some of my Strike Kings! Not bad for $1.99 each! Quote
looking4structure Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 war eagles are my go to spinners and i've never had any problems with them Quote
aceman387 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 i would e mail them and tell them what happened. i had a booyah boogie bait fall apart after a few casts and i e mailed them . they said to mail back what parts you have left which was just the blade and they sent me back 2 new ones. Quote
Chad. Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 i got irritated and threw it on the island but that was my last experience with booyah. Quote
adclem Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Never had any problem with any of my War Eagle spinner baits. They will take care of it for you. Later, Quote
Super User Tin Posted August 21, 2009 Super User Posted August 21, 2009 When they first came out I had that problem with a few of them but never after the first couple months. Quote
sweet daddy Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 The quality has dropped over the last few years, I think that has something to do with their employees. I quit them when they got to lazy to paint the eyes on and went to stickers. Quote
