Cowboy fans don't know the meaning of the word "pain".

I started watching pro football before there was an AFL. I was a Giants fan because they were on tv every weekend in our area of New England.

I suffered through them losing championship games to the Packers, more than once, the Colts with Johnny U, and to the Bears who left Y A Tittle standing dazed and bloodied on the field. It was all downhill from there for a couple of decades until Bill Parcells came along, and they finally won it all, thumping Denver, then squeaking out a game over the Bills, and finally ruining the Patriots perfect season by beating them in the Super Bowl. I can still hear the Giants fans singing "Goodbye Allie" a reditiion of "Hello Dolly" at the end of Allie Sherman's coaching career with the Giants.

I lost interest in pro football when the players went on strike and never looked back. Sentimentally I'm still a Giants fan, but I don't live or die by their success or failure.

Yup. GB fans have a a few little things we refer to as the 70's and 80's

Do I hear a Lynn Dickey? Don Majkowski? Anyone?

Here is what I meant to convey:

The key point I am trying to make , and realize, I am a cowboy fan, is that this team is NOT in the top half of the league talent wise. They may be 16th , but no way are they in the top 10.

Did you see the Giants D Line harassing Romo both games....Did you Philly's Offense just embarass our D TWICE?

See my point??? It is not the coaching staff, it is the lack of playmakers on both sides off the ball.

Dallas has plenty of talent, sure they have some deficiencies at certain positions(most teams do, even the great ones), but they have a lot of talent. you want a team with little to no talent, look at my washington redskins. Dallas problem isnt talent at all. I think their biggest flaw is their sense of self-entitlement without having accomplished anything significant. every year they get annointed as SB contenders and end up thinking theyre better than they are and that they dont have to work or try as hard to win. Dallas could be coming off a 1-15 season and ESPN would still try to annoint them every year

So you really have more of a problem with sport writers, not Dallas. They don't write that stuff, it's the media and fans that eat that crap up.

Pro tip for haters:

Try something different. Stop watching football like your fantasy team is the air you breathe, and ignore the media. Just start watching the games.

I'll see your Dickey and raise you one Pisarcik fumble. That just sounds wrong.

Didn't Dallas lose a game this year basically the same way? If I remember correctly, right before the half, instead of taking a knee, they ran it, fumbled, and the other team scored a td. Against the skins maybe? Perhaps that was a poor coaching decision?

Name the "plenty of talent"? Who on the cowboys team is All Pro??? Defense they have Ware and Lee, every other player is average at best. Ratliff gets a lot of pub, but I rarely see him make a play, and OFTEN see him get blocked completely out of the play.

Offensively, they are offensive. Romo is a good player, who makes up for the total inefficiency of the Offensive, offensive line. The rookie Smith looks promising, but the rest of the group was below average to terribe. Witten is a good player still, and Miles austin is a very good player IF healthy.

The final point, I agree with your "sense of entitlement" comment completely, I watched every televised game this year, and the cowboys talent overall is not better than the Cleveland browns. Fortunately, or sadly in the cowboys case, talent does not always win ballgames. Sometimes teams have a bunch of tough SOB's that just refuse to lose. That is NOT these cowboys.

There's no crying in football. In all seriousness, for 25 years GB was the Siberia of the NFL; I'm talking god-awful, from top to bottom. Looking back on those days really makes me appreciate our current team.

It's kind of funny; I've talked to many younger fans, and all they know is GB being a good to great team. Our renaissance really didn't begin until Ron Wolf took over in the 90's.

Don't forget about T.J Rubley.

Where the heck did you come up with that name? He played 1 play as a Packer?

Man, I watched that game and will never forget how bad he was; he had absolutely no business being on the field. His name is lore here in Wisco. I've recently contemplated getting a custom Rubley jersey made. No kidding.

He was cut that week, even though Favre was doubtful with a severely twisted ankle, and our #2 (Ty Detmer) had a broken finger...he was that bad.

I'm so stoked about that! And he was endorsed to us by none other than Mr. Madden and Mr. Wolf. Both of whom were around in the Raiders glory days. Even if we did lose to the Steelers for four straight years in the playoffs and the Dolphins one of those years also. I'm hopefull that with Father Davis out of the picture now Oakland can get back to those good ol days with Coach Jackson and our new GM.
