Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted December 30, 2011 Author Super User Posted December 30, 2011 HA!excuses. When tebow was a rookie last year he ran for a 40 yard touchdown against you guys. Straight pooped on =p I remember that touchdown. Wasn't that the game that Oakland set a scoring record in? Or was that the one where Denver lost by thirty. Cause we didn't lose a game in the division last year. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 As a long time Chiefs fan (pre-NFL), it has always been a great rivalry. After moving to Denver in 1980, my primary allegiance changed, but I still like the Chiefs, Packers and Cowboys. The one constant has always been rooting for ANY TEAM facing the Raiders! Still, I can appreciate your passion for the Black & Silver. Go Broncos! RW The Packers & the Cowboys do you have no shame? !!! lol j/k I'm a Bears fan but I've always liked the Chiefs & some others. I liked the Chiefs clear back to the Stram Len Dawson. Buck Buchannon etc days when I was probably around 7 or 8yrs old. I imagine that was very close to the time of the merger? I also used to like to watch the Cowboys PRE - JERRY JONES. To me Jones is a large part of what I dislike about current NFL football. Quote

CAdeltaLipRipper Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Lol dont worry im not talking smack (clinched AFC West). i have respect for the raiders even though i hate them. i dont get how we clinched the AFC west if us,the raiders and the chargers all had the same record and beat everyone and lost to everyone in the division once Quote

Super User deaknh03 Posted January 2, 2012 Super User Posted January 2, 2012 Back to back super bowls?what? I'm talking this year, not 14 years ago. The broncs won the division based on head to head games. Quote

GLADES Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 The AFC west has seen better days. Not bashing but those teams have a long way to go. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted January 2, 2012 Super User Posted January 2, 2012 The guy cut for Tebow came back and beat him. 6 for 10, 60 yards and a pick. The magic is gone, and if Tebow isnt converted to another position, he will be gone next year. They beat all the weak teams and the better teams are showing them how its done. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 2, 2012 Super User Posted January 2, 2012 There are only 7, or maybe 8, "elite" quarterbacks in the NFL. Tebow won more games than most of the other 25. I don't think anyone picked Denver to make the playoffs this year. It's really quite an accomplishment. Orton, on the other hand, will be sitting at home. 1 Quote

I agree with most of what you said, but the Broncos won the games, not Tebow, and throw in some lucky breaks. I really think Tebow could be a great QB, but he needs to work on being a QB, not an option back. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted January 2, 2012 Super User Posted January 2, 2012 Tebow is not a pro level qb, his stats over this year have proved it. Especially the last couple weeks, against the worse pass defense and weak teams. Games were won by defense, a kicker and he got the credit but i seem to remember someone else in denver who started 6-0 recently how did that work out. Quote

I think Chicago was the first team to ever make it to the Super Bowl without a QB! I still can't believe the Giants beat the Patriots in XLII. So, anything is possible. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted January 2, 2012 Super User Posted January 2, 2012 Grossman was not great, but very serviceable that year. He had better stats than Tebow in every category other than rushing yards. Tebow has 6 picks this year, to go along with 13 fumbles, not real good in his limited playing time, along with a sub 50% completion percentage. Grossman continues to have a career because he is a prototypical QB, whreas Tebow will have to conform to that for his career, as a QB, to continue. Elway will search for a QB this offseason, trade or draft, and if he can find one, Tebow will be gone. If you take away Tebow's views, you are left with a subpar QB that plays with a good defense, and has had some bad teams make poor decisions to help his team win a couple of games. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted January 2, 2012 Super User Posted January 2, 2012 and the Ravens team that won a super bowl had Dilfer at QB, but also had the best D hands down in the league that year. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted January 2, 2012 Author Super User Posted January 2, 2012 In regards to that miserable game against the Chargers. I have NEVER in my life seen a worse defensive effort then the Raiders put forth Yesterday. It was disgraceful. How are you going to wrap up on a reciver, with the ball and just stand there and hold him up. Sweet Mother Mary! Pick the man up and spike him into the turf! Stop trying to hug the man and take his frickin head off! I don't believe I ever one time saw The Hitman, The Assassin, or Dr. Death ever try to hug a reciever. My gosh! As for our offense they played better than I expected them too. The recievers dropped or missed some key passes, but hey you can't catch all of them. Palmer threw some interceptions, but hey so did every other who in the league. If we ever get our defense up to snuff we might actually be dangerous. Oh well there's always next season.
