I am intrigued by the Sebile Flatt Shad Snagless concept, and would like to modify a lipless crank to do the same thing without the 15 dollar price tag. In your experience which cranks will sit upright or on their nose when at rest on the bottom? Thanks!

Sit upright? Wow, that's an interesting question. I do know some that will not turn over and roll around on slack or semi-slack line. Strike King's "Red Eye shad" and Yo-zuri's "Rattl'n vibe" are two that are very good at maintaining that upright position, but that's while the bait is falling. They also shimmy as they fall, giving it a swimming-like appearance.

I remember a thread that showed how various brands of lipless cranks sat in the water I'll do a search for it and see if I can find anything.

Question for aruku shad users: I ordered four of them from TW since they are like 50% off. First time I'm going to fish them. Is there any special method to fish these? Or do you just let them rip and fall, and yo-yo, and the other usual stuff?

P.S. Sorry for the hijack.

@ OP Aruku Shad does it better than anyone else, plain and simple.

@ Deep: I rip them, I straight reel, I hop them along the bottom as a baitfish would along rocks, scrounging for food. I REALLY like them on ledges and deep drops you can fish them darned near like a jig in those situations, but that's all you're gonna get outta me in public. :P
