Super User Lund Explorer Posted December 24, 2011 Super User Posted December 24, 2011 We looked into this many years ago, and I might have to do a little digging to see if I still have the manufacturer's information. Suffice it to say, it is an expensive option as most companies are going to require you to purchase an entire run of product. You have to remember that besides the material, they have to setup the run and clean up molds/machines after the run. On bait shop I shop at frequently used to have special order colors made for Kalin's grubs. If I remember, the owner said his minimum order was in the thousands. You might be better off to look in the "Tackle Making" section to see if any other member might make you a smaller order. Or, you might want to consider making your own. These same members can steer you to companies that will get you setup with everything you'd need to make them. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted December 25, 2011 Super User Posted December 25, 2011 Send an email to one of the numerous smaller companies that do hand pours. I've had it done several times for me. Anywhere from a package of baits, up to a whole bunch of them. I personally have used Dichoso custom baits, but there are plenty of others out there. Quote
steverowbotham Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I've done custom orders with X-Zone, Ghost Baits and Bass Magnet. All three produced excellent product for me. I had them do a mustard colour with black, gold, green fleck. Killer when they're on the perch!! Quote

I can vouch for Romeo Dichoso...he's made a number of baits for me and they've all been very well done. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted December 25, 2011 Super User Posted December 25, 2011 I have several different custom colors poured each year. The best guy that I've found is a guy by the name of Lee Hillman. He can do any color you want and his plastic is great quality. You can find him on facebook under Nasty Baits. He is also the only tournament angler that I know of who has the BR logo in his boat wrap. Quote
basslover12345 Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 Anyone have any advice or things I should be aware of? Quote
Super User grimlin Posted December 25, 2011 Super User Posted December 25, 2011 What are you looking for in that color? Grubs, worms, ect? Some of the smaller home made guys may not have the mold of the bait you want. And may make you buy them the mold or order a certain amount of baits to make up for the mold. Smaller custom bait makers don't make a whole lot of money on their baits. It's an expensive hobby to get into so work with them and they'll work with you. Quote

Scorcher214 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 stick baits Did a company used to make these colors for stick baits, or is this just a color and flake combination you think would work. Usually if the fish are hitting stick baits, they hit whatever color I throw at them. Quote
Pete-K Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 May be tough to get all those colors in one bait. But theres lots of custom bait makers online that will do there best to make what you want. I have been trying to find a few molds for baits I use the most and will then be able to inject my own baits. Plus pour all that I want that has a flat bottom. Pete Quote
Primus Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I can vouch for Romeo Dichoso...he's made a number of baits for me and they've all been very well done. Same here, good guy to deal with. I had him make his 10" Anaconda worm in a Smoke Purple color which is the same mold as the Xcite Maximus to use a power shakey worm. I also had a few other baits made in the Smoke Purple color. Very pleased with his quality and service. Quote
