All I can say is wow I was out doing some last minute Xmas shopping with the wife and got my hands on one pairedwith a 7'6 mh veritas. Light doesn't even describe this thing it's it's idk can't think of a word to describe it. Even my wife loved it she said she would get me one for when I get back from Kuwait.

They're nice, BUT, the reviews and feedback we've been getting is not great. I personally have had two and had problems with both. The first one I shelled completely, I mean the main drive gear was nearly flat. The second I tor the clutch and ar bearing out after two hours of fishing. I'll stick with a Core or Pixy if I need a light reel for light lures.

Or a Sol/Alphas, the Sol is a good option, you can get them for cheap now that it´s discontinued.

Hooligan you had me worried. I thought the OP was about the new Pfluegar MGX spinning reel, which I'm set on buying if I don't get one for christmas. I know I always count on you not hiding your feelings about new tackle and I was starting to second guess my decision before I figured out you were talking about the Revo MGX!

clayton86-That is a sweet looking reel and I hope you got a good one and it works out for you!

Very true.

BB, I haven't been able to get my hands on the new Pflueger, though everything I read and hear is good. There was an initial problem with the sealed drag, but that has been addressed. That's a great reel for the money from all accounts.

I have been watching the reviews on the MGX's, and generally find what Hooligan says to be true. Seems to be a fair amount of issues with them so far. I have several of Abu's current generation Premier and was all stoked about getting an MGX. But not so much at this point. I do hope they get the issues figured out quickly and the reviews get better.

Yea, I was also stoked about getting one until I read the reviews. I'm going to have to wait it out until something new developes. I guess I'll be adding another flawless Lew's TP to my collection.
