I saw Zell Rowland at a bass seminar many years ago where he talked about how he modified stock Pop-R's. As he said it, the best color is the base plastic color once you've removed all of the paint job. Bone Color.

I like the Zell Pops too, just not their price. Heard nothing but good about the Ricos, but I've never caught anything on mine. Probably because I can't but the Zell Pop down.

I love the Yellow Magic's. I seem to be able to catch bass with those when no other popper is working. I have heard many good things about the zell pops and the rico's as well, but the Yellow Magic's are DARN good as well.

I'm with Roadwarrior, PopMax. The bait will just flat catch fish. The disadvantage of it, though, is that muskies like them, too. I've donated three to the muskie gods this past year. I also like the Yellow Magic when a little more noise is desired; I also don't feel so bad about losing them versus a PopMax, so I tend to fish them in my known muskie haunts.

I like the smaller Zell Pop in the Ghost color, mine has caught so many fish most of the paint is worn off of it.

RICO!!!!!

Ready to go and it is a very good topwater bait.

Zell's topwater is great, too. Just start throwing Zell's crank and have some fun.

I just realized that I have a Megabass topwater that I bought at Fishing Pro Tech in Toano, Virginia, which is now out of business.

Beautiful bait. I have not thrown it much as it is too pretty and expensive. It cost me $20 two years ago and I understand the price is now around $28.

Hooker's in Toano, Virgninia has the Megabass line so if anyone wants any Megabass lures call Hooker's, 757.566.9050, and tell them what you are looking for.

I love the RICOs but will try my one and only Megabass popper next year.

If I lose it you will be hearing from me as it is all you guys' fault!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas!

You don't want to fish the old Megabass..... They're nothing but junk. Always were 'till they changed ownership last year. Go ahead and send it over here and I'll send you a brand new Zell Pop. Go ahead and take advantage of my generosity before my conscience gets the best of me :wink3:
