Bass_Fanatic Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Im a HUGE Tebow fan...but... Patriots 35 Broncos 17 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 13, 2011 Super User Posted December 13, 2011 This is a joke right 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 13, 2011 Super User Posted December 13, 2011 This should be a good one. The Bronco's D is pretty stout but I think the Pats will still score quite a few points. The Pats D is pathetic so the Bronco's Offense will score as well. Forecast for Sunday at Mile High is Sunny and 45 degrees. It may come down to a field goal. After the two rockets Prater launched on Sunday (59 and 51 yds respectively) I'd be hard pressed not to give the nod to the Denver Tebows. A-Jay Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted December 13, 2011 Super User Posted December 13, 2011 I'd love to see the Broncos pull this out and keep the momentum going, but I've got the Pats 31-17 1 Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 13, 2011 Super User Posted December 13, 2011 The Patriots are winning ugly. The Broncos are winning ugly. Could be an ugly game. It will have better tv ratings because of the "interest" in Tebow. Maybe Tebow does not have the stuff to be a great NFL quarterback. But he is sure helping the ratings on the Broncos games, and isn't that what it's really all about for the owners, ratings? If a player can put fannies in the seats in the stands or in front of a television, he/she is a valuable commodity. Michael Jordan wasn't paid for his skills. He was paid because his skills put fans in the seats. You don't think it's about putting people in the seats? Then why does the top paid hockey player make less than half of what the top basketball and football player gets paid and less than a third of what the top baseball player gets paid? One other consideration. Football is a 16 game season, basketball 60 or so, baseball 160 approx, hockey 82. Quote
Jim_M Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 This is a joke right Agreed. The Denver Elway's have ZERO chance. AT LEAST a three score lead when it's all over. I like the kid too. But he'll have to play perfect football for 4 full quarters. He's not there. To make matters worse, the Patriots are angry. This will be ugly. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted December 13, 2011 Super User Posted December 13, 2011 Pats 28 Broncos 10. Denver has a good D, but the Pats will still score, and Bellichick has a knack for confusing young, inexperienced QBs. The only factor Denver really has is that it's in Denver, and the Pats have a real tough time up there, plus at a mile above sea level, Tebow will be closer to God, so they can communicate in the huddle more effectively. LOL ~ never really considered if altitude came in to play there or not. A-Jay Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 13, 2011 Super User Posted December 13, 2011 Pats, 24-0. The only way that'll happen is if the pats hold on to the ball for the last two minutes if the game Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 13, 2011 Super User Posted December 13, 2011 That would be my game plan, LOL. Quote
OHIO Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 The Broncos should at least get a couple field goals. I mean Prater can hit em easy from 60 yards and the Pats defense is awful. I actually think it'll be a close game with a good Denver defense and a horrible Patriots defense. The Pats should win, but you really can never count Tebow out. Quote
Super User Marty Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 You don't think it's about putting people in the seats? Then why does the top paid hockey player make less than half of what the top basketball and football player gets paid and less than a third of what the top baseball player gets paid? Of course it's about putting people in the seats and getting them to watch on TV as well. Hockey has never gotten a foothold here in the U.S. It's a great game in person and not so great on TV. Hockey gets next to nothing from TV rights compared to the other sports; it's carried on Versus whereas the networks and major cable channels have the other sports. Until that changes, hockey players will always be lower paid. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 Will be an interesting game to watch. Teeblow brings some much needed excitement to the boring NFL. Will be watching to see if the Pats assign a linebacker to follow Teeblow around and hit him as many times as possible plus blitzing him to try to hurry up his throws and make him run the ball. And yes, the altitude always plays a factor in the Broncos games, especially in the fourth quarter. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 And yes, the altitude always plays a factor in the Broncos games, especially in the fourth quarter. So do soft, safe defenses. I'll never get this aspect of some teams' defense strategy. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 I don't understand the prevent defense at all, you stopped the other team all game long why change what you were doing? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 Prevent only works about half the time in close games. Look my Cowboys last Sunday - they used it for 4 quarters, LOL. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 Look what that's got you. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 Look what that's got you. Exactly! What I've gotten has been watching super bowls that I don't really care about, unless it's Pittsburgh, then I root for the other team. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 I guy that used to work for me was constantly saying, "All the prevent defense does is prevent you from winning games that you had won until you played the prevent defense." Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 14, 2011 Super User Posted December 14, 2011 It's one thing to use it in the last 2 minutes with a two score lead, but close games? C'MON MANNN!!!! Quote
JIGFISHERMAN. Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Prevent is a tool to prevent long plays. But, it's usually only used by teams with the personal, that is sure to give up long plays. How often do you see Pittsburg, or Baltimore playing prevent, regardless of the situation? I always hated when people described a defense as a "bend but don't break" defense.....Which in reality meant a poor defense with a few good players on it. Quote
