grampa1114 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Ahem....didn't you catch a 2+ smallie with me there last year? I recall it was on a TR Senko between ponds. Quote
GrundleLove Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 did i? crap....i guess its my second then. Quote

Sleepless Weekends Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Sawdy's been on too. No comments from the peanut gallery . H-N-H.LOL 1 Quote
Sleepless Weekends Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I'm waiting to see if sleeplessweekends will be available. kids=Sports=waiting for his son's baseball schedule. I'm in either way, but I'll be taking my Jon w/8hp if sleepless can't make it. I'd be more than happy to take my gas grill, some burgers and buns. I'll probably fish it on the 1st just to re-familiarize myself with the waters. Im in for the 1st if you want company. we can bring my boat. Still haven't got the schedule. 1 Quote
tate Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 hey guys .... looks like I am going to be away on 4/15 and won't be able to make it. hope you all have a great day. - tate Quote
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Im in for the 1st if you want company. we can bring my boat. Still haven't got the schedule. Great because I was just about to drop out! I think my front troller is burning out batt's. The brand new Blue top optima only lasted 5 hours yesterday! Don't think I'll be taking my boat anywhere until I fix the trolling motor issue, run new wires on the trailer and install the guide-on's. Hopefully I'll have time this week. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 26, 2012 Author Super User Posted March 26, 2012 I'm having to bow out too. Sorry, but unforseen circumstances, and unchangeable scheduling for the next three weeks have fouled up my plans. Things that must be done, if I'm to get out of here in time to attend the road trip. Quote
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Wow that's unfortunate. This seems to be falling apart. How many of us are left? Quote
GrundleLove Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Sure we can.I dont know what the other pond will be nor do i care because whatever it is my vote is still for Mashpee. That fishery is unreal and on my way out i spoke to the president of north American bass fisherman club or something he had a giant logo on his truck and the premiere fishing guide on that pond and he admittedly said that this year is going to be the best year in decades for that pond. So needless to say im jacked up for it. and think that april 15th will be a perfect day to catch some nice bass Quote
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I believe they picked Mashpee because it's centrally located for all, guys from NH MA and RI. Hour and a half ride for us. CAN WE VOTE FOR A NEW POND? Quote
tate Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Hi Guys ..... I thought I was going to Maine that weekend but that may not be the case now. I can't commit to attending or having an open seat at this time but once I am sure I will let the group know. Not being sure I have no vote but locations do not matter to me as long as it is good fishery and relatively boat safe. Hope I can make it to see old friends again and meet some of you new guys. - Tate Quote
grampa1114 Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 It looks like I might just be able to make it but not definite yet,,,,,don't much care where.... Quote
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Unfortunately, now I can't make the 15th. I have a boarder coming 11th-16th that has aggression & fear issues and can't be left unsupervised with the other dogs. Quote
HOIST-N-HAWGS Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Just thought I'd let you guys know there's also a T being held that day on Mashpee. Mashpee Wakeby Pond 4/15/2012 17 6:00 AM 7:00 AM 12:00 PM Rayn-Water Bass Club Quote
grampa1114 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 There will be Tournaments on every lake and river in Mass from now until late fall.....it just can't be avoided....friends can fish together on any lake they want...any time they want....there is generally plenty of water and plenty of fish for all. freebie Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Got word from a friend that Billington Sea in plymouth is pretty much shut down for some weed removal they are doing. basically cuts off the whole west pool. I fished a T at Santuit on sunday. One fish 1.84 lbs...tough day I guess. Couldn't even get a perch to eat a 3" sluggo. They put in some new water circulators there...interesting setup they did. This would be a great place for a get together. It's not very big but has some big fish. There is almost never tourneys there so wouldn't really have to deal with that aspect. 1 Quote
tate Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I also like fishing Santuit.... I was there on Friday and had a good day. The 3'' sluggo produced a bunch but the bigger fish were caught on Fat Albert's. Surface water temps were low at 47degrees. I was a frequent flyer there through the 90's and early 2000's but gave up on it when it's popularity grew and when the algae problems started. Last year even boating access was stopped due to the toxicity of the blue/green algae. The end of last year it actually "crashed" where the algae grew to such a level that it starved itself out and temporarily disappeared. The timing was good as that happened end of last year and this year they installed the solar powered circulator's in mid may. The circulator's will mix oxygen with the water at the lower depths which will help stop the bottom sediment from releasing phosphorus which feeds the algae. The only challenge with a get together there is the resident only restricted parking Memorial day through Labor day. There is some parking on the streets around it plus we could probably leave some tow rigs and trailers just up the road at the A&P and then shuttle down to the lake in one or two vehicles. It might be worth it as pleasure crafts are minimal even on the summer weekends. 1 Quote
freebie Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 this topic kind of died off. lets see if we can get something going for early may maybe? 1 Quote
GrundleLove Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 So far i've been to monposett, mashpee, and great herring this season. and the only place that has produced is mashpee. So that is my report. I really dont understand tho, literally throwing everything in the tacklebox at them and aint catching sht Quote
grampa1114 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 You are suffering from Newboatitis...this occurs when the new boater has more to think about than which worm to throw...now it is boat position in the wind and which structure or cover to throw to and just in general where to go to find the fish. Relax and think about what you already know and it will all fall into place. Best of luck with the new rig...spend as much time on the water as possible and remember that this is supposed to be relaxing, fun. Grampa Quote
