Bass_Fanatic Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 If they make the playoffs they will not select a qb first round. I do think that they will grab one in the 3rd round or so though. Im not saying Tebow is a great qb, but he is a great teammate and a great winner. If I had to block or run or catch for a qb, I cant think of one that I would rather do it for. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 The problem is the team he's on and the fact that Elway is his boss. Elway was a prototypical "quarterback", and he has a vision of what he thinks the position is, and what he wants at that position, and Tebow isn't that guy. Tebow has a lot going for him, he has great football skills, and can handle all of the BS and pressure put on him. If, and a big if, he can develop into a more NFL style QB, he will have a long and productive career, and if he stays with the way he plays now, he will most likely flame out in a couple of years. I say this because there is precedent as to what his style is, see Randall Cunningham, Mike Vick, early Steve Young, Bobby Douglass, et al. The only way some of these guys became successful was adapting to the way the NFL plays the position. I don't think he cant be successful doing it this way, I just think the odds are way against it happening. The only QB I can think of that had success with a style kinda like Tebow's, is Tarkenton, but he had better accuracy, was a better pocket passer, and had a hall of fame defense with the Vikes. That all being said, I would love to see him be successful, as the NFL needs the change he is bringing to it. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 He has to start playing full games, trying to survive off of comebacks is a good story but won't last. To do that he has to widen his skill set into a more "NFL" QB. Only time will tell if he can do that. I can see Denver using him as trade bait to get something and drafting another QB. Denver is a team who wants championships and it has been awhile since they were at that level. Unless something drastically changes it doesn't seem like their management thinks he is the one to lead them to the ultimate prize. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted December 17, 2011 Super User Posted December 17, 2011 Great person, yes! Great athlete, yes! Great QB, the jury is still out. Denver is playing with the cards it has been dealt, that ace in the bunch is Tebow. Not sure how long he will be successful as an NFL QB, but in his own words he is grateful every time he gets to play QB in the NFL. IMO he is, as someone stated before, a flash in the pan and his longevity is to be questioned. As a hypothetical who would you rather have if you were starting a NFL franchise today Tebow or Ponder, both 1st round draft pics? Why? I would pick Ponder, because he is the prototypical NFL QB and with an O-line and some talent around him he can be a very good QB. I would not pick Tebow, because the offensive system required to make him successful isn't a proven formula in today's NFL Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 19, 2011 Super User Posted December 19, 2011 Tebow played good, Brady played better. Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 TEBOW TEBOW TEBOW! WHEN YOU TURN ON THE GAME,THIS IS WHAT YOU SEE:HALF A DOZEN RAIDERS GETTING CLOWNED BY ME Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I think that was our game if we didnt fumble 3 times Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 19, 2011 Super User Posted December 19, 2011 Tebow played good, Brady played better. For playing against the worst defense in NFL, he did a horrible job. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted December 19, 2011 Super User Posted December 19, 2011 I find it hilarious that Tebow gets all the credit during the streak, the long field goals, defensive play and such gets nothing. Then when they lose and he completes only 11 passes against the worst defense in the NFL the headline says don't blame him. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted December 19, 2011 Super User Posted December 19, 2011 It definately was "A TEAM LOSS." Tebow played his usual game. He really isn't a differance maker yet and he may never be but only time will tell. Quote
GLADES Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The Broncos had a great run. The Patriots brought them back down to earth. Thanks for the video Eric. Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 All of u are forgetting that tebow is WINNING.He is a second year quarterback who had no off season to practice, and hes doing great. Critics like to be critics, and he has shut them all up. He may not be the best passer in the world, but he's still good at it, and at times he's perfect. He's very hard to tackle, and can run like no other. Its not just his skill winning, its the FEELING and emotion he brings to that team that gives them the strength to do what they have been doing. They'll be even better next year Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted December 20, 2011 Super User Posted December 20, 2011 He may not be the best passer in the world, but he's still good at it, and at times he's perfect. Must be some other Tim Tebow I've been watching. The dude I see on Sundays is definitely not what I'd call a "good" passer. Perfect? Not even in the same sentence as him. As far as practice goes, uh yeah they practiced plenty. Just not in an official capacity as a member of a team. Believe me, he was on the field learning how to change up his throwing motion some more during the off season. See the video above if you want to see why he's been winning. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 20, 2011 Author Super User Posted December 20, 2011 Tebow makes the Broncos the talk of the town. As an individual, he is a solid citizen, great athlete and now a starting NFL quarterback. He has added a lot of excitement to the season and deserves all the credit for Denver's success. There are only 7 or 8 elite quarterbacks in the league. Tebow may not be in the elite group yet, but he is on top of the other 25 guys playing quarterback in the rest of the NFL, at least when it comes to excitement! Quote

Um he was 3 of 16 against the bears, and then in the fourth he was 18 of 24. Whats his record?oh ya. 7-2. Its his second year.No other qb has a higher win percentage except aaron rodgers on the season. A wins a win right? He doesnt have a heisman for nothing you know Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 20, 2011 Super User Posted December 20, 2011 Heisman trophy means nothing, anyone remember Andre Ware? Heisman aside, Tebow is playing well and like RW stated he's a solid citizen and brings emotion and motivation to the team, that's an untangable commodity that few players possess. As I was watching the game and listening to Phil Simms, who BTW was a QB, and a SB winner and ongoing color man for quite a few years, said of Tebow when playing side by side videos of him and Brady. He uses the same shoulder movement, back leg lifting off the ground while finishing the passing motion. Simms gave Tebow a good passing grade. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 20, 2011 Super User Posted December 20, 2011 Sorry, but a terrible passer rating and a really good defence, doesn't make tebow a good quarterback. Been said many times that he's a better runner than thrower. 1 Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted December 20, 2011 Super User Posted December 20, 2011 It's funny that so many people who are watching the same thing , see it in so many differant versions. Quote
Jim_M Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Easy does it y'all . Here's a little quiz. What does the number 297 have in common? They're the points scored against New England...AND Green Bay so far this year. Take a look at where these teams are positioned in their conferences. Jus sayin' Interesting huh? Quote

Been said many times that he's a better runner than thrower. It's gonna catch up to him,Quarterbacks should not be running the football like that.Big potential to get hurt too easily. Just look at all the others who could run a football....Big time injuries. Once he gets hurt,he's gonna start showing he's not the greatest thrower like people make him out to be. He's not the worst either but still, once he has to start limiting his run game it's gonna show.. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted December 20, 2011 Super User Posted December 20, 2011 I think it was Dan Fouts who said "I see good young running quarterbacks, but no good old running quarterbacks". Or something close to that.... Quote

MrSwimJig Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Tebow has such a positive attitude and the open mind to learn and if Elway will take him under his wing mentor him and work with him to be a better passer I believe that Tebow will be a great QB. Will he be a Rodgers, Breese, Brady, Marino, Elway etc... Doubtful but only time will tell. But he has the attitude and the positive outlook to make changes and he works extremely hard at improving every day. Quote
