Im looking to purchase some more skirt material for my first winter of spinnerbait making and I got the kit from Jann's. Along with the RR I got, I bought some silicone strips. But I was just wondering from you guys, which do you prefer? Does one move better in the water than the other? What about for jigs, RR or silicone? The only thing I dont like about RR so far is that I have to separate every single strand from the other one.

I use both. Sometimes I mix them together. I think rubber moves better on a jig but I still use a lot of silicone.

To seperate the rubber make it a it longer than you need. Tie it to the bait. Take a pair of sissors and pull the rubber pretty tight. slowly cut the rubber and each strand will pop of. I'd show you a pic but photo bucket is acting up on my computer.

I don't think you'll see the benefits of living rubber on a spinnerbait.
