flippin and pitchin Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Today is Pearl Harbor Day. I once met a gentleman that was at Pearl while stationed with the US Navy. He has since passsed away. I am so greatful to veterans who have served our country. If you are a veteran and or are in active service, GOD BLESS YOU ! THANK YOU! Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted December 7, 2011 Super User Posted December 7, 2011 It's been on my mind all day. Sadly, many of the survivours who were there 70 years ago,are no longer with us, almost all the WW2 vets I knew are gone. I hold the people of that generation in high esteem. We are what and who we are today, because of them. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 8, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 8, 2011 Pearl Harbor and the years that followed brought forth bravery and heroics never seen before. The U.S. and the free world owe everything to the allied soldiers of WWII. I'm in awe whenever I meet one. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 I couldn't agree more with Glenn. I was at a conference several years ago and Easy Company Sgt. Don Malarkey spoke. He was one of the Band Of Brothers. Over 300 cops gave him a five minute standing ovation. When he could finally talk he asked if someone would get him a scotch and water. With in thee minutes he was served. I will never forget that. Quote
