I have rediscovered an old green curado in a 3.8:1 gear ratio. Does anybody still use reels this slow?

Sure do.

As stated it's a great reel for deep cranking.

Plus I keep new gear set upgrades to 5.1:1 and 6.2:1

in my parts bins.

Great reels the old B series.

I do, religioulsy, it makes cranking those looooong deep divers a piece of cake, also for slow rolling them spinnerbaits with blades as large as hub caps.

I would love to get my hands on one of these reels for deep cranking.

Thanks for the advice guys. Now I just need to figure out the side imaging on my fishfinder to find some structure to deep crank. As it is midsummer in the southern hemisphere I suppose it should be a good tactic to try.

If I can ask? What does a 5.1 to 1 gear set cost ?

I am with Raul on this I have 2 & use them for slow rolling big spinnerbaits. Both of them are super tuned & I can cast a crankbait a country mile, so I pretty much use them on all crankbaits when the water temp is 50 & below.

All of the 200B series gear sets were running the $30.00 mark.

But you cannot find them any longer, unless you have one of each in the gear ratios.

All of my green Cu 201B' (5) are LH crank reels and I know you cannot find gear sets for them any longer...
