I was in the tackleshop the other day and picked up some soft plastic zoom 6" lizards.  Being from central Florida I figured since there are 100 lizards per square foot around here it might be a good choice.

So I called in sick yesterday and went out to one of my favorite lakes.  I figured that casting under the dock might be a realistic place that lizards would be likely to fall into the water.  First cast and BAM! got a nice 2lb'er.  Walked around the bank and had good luck too under the cypruss.

Anyone else use lizards?  I don't hear about it much and was wondering.

Ya I'm from Central Florida also an I have had good luck with lizards in ponds an in my lakes especially in the canals. Were you fishing them weightless or weighted?

Yes.  I use the a lot.

They are a very popular C-rig bait.

Lizards have accounted for a decent portion of my fish caught this year. I prefer the 4" Zooms for my creek fishing.

I was fishing them florida rigged with a 1/8oz bullet pegged 1/4 inch up.  I was thinking about going weightless tomorrow over the pads.

In my neck of the woods there are no salamanders ( lizards are terrestrial creatures ), hellbenders, water dogs or whatever they are regionally known, soft plastic lizards work very well.

I like using lizards on Carolina rigs or texas rigs. The smaller 4" lizzy is a great split shot lure.

I am a die hard zoom lizard fisherman. The bite has slowed a good deal in the last 2 years but before that I used to have great success with it. I rigged it on a 1/8 or 1/16 Slider head.

I started bass fishing using 6 and 4 inch zoom lizards and caught tons of fish with them.  I have since totally lost the patience to fish soft plastics but they definitely work very well.

Like Raul said, there do not need to be Lizards present for their plastic relatives to work. I have been using The Rage Lizard with great success. By far the best action of any lizard out there. Something a little different for the fish to look at also.
