WanderLust Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Im looking to get two more rods for my cranks, one for square bills and one for me medium divers what do you guys like and use What price range you looking at? Shimano Compre tough to beat for the price. Powell MAX also a decent stick for the money. On the pricey end there are a million great options. St. Croix LTB Big Cranker or Avid Medium Moderate is a great choice and it only gets better from there. Quote
BUZZKIDD Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I like a glass rod for cranking. Dobyns 705 for square bills and lighter cranks, Dobyns 765 for deep cranks. Also have a Powell glass rod and it works fine too. Quote
Craiger12 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I like a glass rod for cranking. Dobyns 705 for square bills and lighter cranks, Dobyns 765 for deep cranks. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 7, 2011 Global Moderator Posted December 7, 2011 St.Croix Pro Glass, 7' MH/M. I use it for all my cranks except my deep runners. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 A Dobyns 705G is hard to beat. The 765 would be for bombing big deep divers on long casts. Quote
Crankenstein Crony Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I would go with the Quantum Tour KVD rods. They are awesome! I have a 7'0, a 7'4, and 2 7'10 KVD rods. Best I've used! Cranking is my favorite technique, so I've used a lot of cranking rods. They are awesome rods and the price can't be beat! Quote
Super User South FLA Posted December 11, 2011 Super User Posted December 11, 2011 All Star ASR makes a techniques specific Cranking Rod great bang for buck! ASR866CB or ASR845C Quote
Packard Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Depends on your price range but at a little over $100, St Croix makes the Premier Glass which is a great rod in that price range and above. I also like the old Lamiglass Skeet Reese blanks. Quote
