Blues19 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I am gonna be using a spro frog in lily pads in a few weeks. I normally, about 90% of the time throw it in slop, the other 10% is in open water. Most of the time they hit the beast when its on the move and i seem to get 2 or 3 shots at a fish as they go after it more than once (Everytime I see the explosion i wanna set the hook, its just to darn hard to wait). is this the same when fishing pads? Should i let it rest between the pads or on top? thanks! Quote
bassman31783 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Let the fish tell you. Sometimes i'll cast right onto a pad & let it sit on top for 20 seconds or so then pull it off & catch a fish that has just been waiting. Other times i've got to work it quite fast. I would try a couple different approaches until you catch one. Quote

Last outing I had using the frog they wouldn't hit it hopping and pausing it but on a steady retrieve a fish took it under. Work it til a fish takes it Quote
Kingbass43 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I know what u mean man today i was fishing in some weeds n things and a fishy pulled it under and i guess i yanked it out of its mouth because i was so excited and this was on my first cast of the day no luch after that though Quote
Koop Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I like to pause a few seconds on each pad and then use a quicker retrieve between them, like the frog is trying to get to the safety of the next pad. Quote
