I am looking to get my husband a x-mas gift to go bass fishing w/ a guide while in Ft. Myers this December and having a really hard time finding someone. We usually go to Orlando area and he has been fishing that area for the last 10yrs with the same person. We just bought a condo in Ft. Myers and he's not real happy about going. Looking to see if he can find bass fishing in this area while we are visiting. We are from CT and he uses artificial lures to fish. If anyone can please help I'd appreciate it. Thank You

You are only about 60 miles west of Clewiston and Roland Martin's resort. Google that one and Bass fishing guides near Clewiston FL and I would gues you will have many options.

To find a closer area you might see if you can find a local tackle shop that at least stocks a supply of fresh water tackle a sales person there might be able to point you in the right direction.

I used to live in Bonita Springs, just south of Ft Myers. Like the person above said, the most obvious is Lake Okeechobee which has really made a strong comeback over the last decade from what I understand.

You can't hardly walk 20 paces in SW Fla without running into a golf course. Many of those golf course lakes are loaded with unpressured bass, though access can be an issue.

Also, there is a park in south Ft Myers called "Lakes Park" on Gladioulis. I used to fish there several times a week using live shiners purchased at a bait shop on US41 on the Estero river. There are plenty of big fish in Lakes Park. They used to rent small boats, but I mostly fished from the bank and from the bridges/piers. Live bait was the key there; throwing artificials seemed a waste of time.

Thank You. We are across the street from Lakes Park.

When are you coming? I can point out several local holes in the nearby area. Mind you, some of these places look small but are loaded with bass. I kid you not, I've caught seven pound bass or bigger in every one of these places.

I have a guide for you who lives and runs his business out of Ft. Myers. If you still need him send me a PM. Can Probably set you up with a guide trip out of a private rock pit near Ft. Myers with major double digit bass.
