Are the new green nrx's just a different color are did the change them in any other way ????

They're a different rod entirely, I'm told. They're supposed to be an upgraded blank and all. Haven't seen them yet, but they should have started shipping in the US today I believe.

That would be crazy if they already upgraded the "best blank ever" so quickly. I've picked up two in the past few months and would be a bit upset if they're already the "old" model that's about to be heavily discounted. Anyhow, I suspect that they've been modified more so than upgraded (to address the reel seat and cork problems that are all too common).

I don't disagree, Norcal. The other thing, I believe, is that they're a fully finished blank. That alone will add some weight; we shall see what they are bringing forth.

Their website doesn't explain the difference that I could find. Perhaps only difference is the color because I can't afford another Loomis upgrade at the moment.

Yeah, how dumb is that? Introduce the new color and offer zero explanation about what exactly the difference is between them and the existing NRX. I sure hope it's only color. Prices are not listed on their website yet, either.

On another forum - some are thinking that the green rods have a "fix" for the reel seat issues occuring on some of the earlier NRX rods. (Google green NRX rod and you'll find it)

OTOH - perhaps Roadwarrior convinced Shimano to come out with a green NRX to come closer to color-matching with a Curado 50E...

That is odd that they switched the color, why not just keep it the same? Now you are going to have some unhappy customers wondering what was wrong with the first edition!

I personally like the "blue" model. Why just change the color? What they should have done is fixed the problem on the "blue" ones, but still kept them the same color and introduced the "green" ones, but in the Classic Mag Bass models.

GREEN  ? Why Green  ? I was just getting use to my NRX with the original color, but I suppose I'll have to get a green one now.

I will more than likely regret saying this, but Loomis should considere giving their color choices a "ladies touch" or fire the color coordinater.

Evidently had to give that made over paint room a go. Why bother messing with the entry level Mossybacks when you can confuse the heck out of everyone that's already bought your highest end rod??? I find their explanation hard to believe.

Yeah, I hear you. I mean, I do believe the paint story and all. But why confuse folks? If you're going to do this, there should be a big press release, info on their website, etc. Heck of a way to do business.

Now they green. Anyone that sees someone with it will be green with ***!

I'm stumped. I've heard so many different stories on this now that I don't know what's true. All I know for certain is that I like my NRX the way they are and won't be green with anything for not having green rods.

I seem to recall a lot of negativity toward the color scheme of the 1st NRX when it came out. Perhaps Loomis is just trying to mix it up a bit, but why GREEN?

Yeah, there were a ton of negative nancies that hated the color scheme. I remember that whole hubbub.

Green, especially Forest Green, has universal appeal. You will notice it is one

of our primary colors here on BassResource.com. For my money, the Curados

are the perfect color with the touch of glitter. The reels match perfectly

with the BCR series rods. I have not seen the new NRX in person.
