Ima Bass Ninja Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 So whats your thoughts on the upcoming UFC fights? TUF finales and Machida vs Jones. TUF--Diego Brando is a beast i don't think he can be beaten by Bermudez Dodson and Dillashaw should be a good fight but i'm picking Dodson to take the win Coaches--Bisping has the experience of UFC but man i don't like that guy , just rubs me the wrong way....so i'm going for miller on this one Machida vs Jones----Now this is a good match-up!!!...I can't wait for this fight. 2 of my favorite fighters going head to head. I gotta root for Jones though. I think his reach and wrestling ability will win this fight for him. So whats your thoughts/ Picks??? Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 1, 2011 Super User Posted December 1, 2011 Should be a an entertaining event with interesting and competitive fights all over the fight card. But Jones is a freak and until he fights someone that can get to Jones's legs and slow down his attack (perhaps put him more on the defensive) while avoiding all the lethal weapons the Champ possesses, I don't see the belt changing hands. Super User 5bass Posted December 4, 2011 Super User Posted December 4, 2011 I was real disappointed that Miller couldn't/wouldn't take Bisping down. He could've owned him on the ground. That Diego kid is the truth, by the way. What happened in the Dodson fight, I missed that one. Quote

Red Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 That was one slick arm bar by Brandao huh? That dude was tappin out before he even completed the roll. Awesome! I like Machida, have always liked watching him fight. My money is on him. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 I was real disappointed that Miller couldn't/wouldn't take Bisping down. He could've owned him on the ground. That Diego kid is the truth, by the way. What happened in the Dodson fight, I missed that one. TKO Dodson over Dillashaw...1;54 in first round.. a lot of people thought it was a premature stoppage but dillashaw got rocked bad and probably wouldn't have lasted much longer anyway. Miller got his butt kicked.. i think these highly touted fighters from other venues think they will just walk in the UFC and start winning but that is far from the case. UFC has the best fighters for a reason. I really thought Miller would have put up a better fight but Bisping owned him. Just look at the records...Shogun Rua lost to Forrest Griffen..Wanderli Silva lost to Liddell....Henderson lost to Anderson Silva....Anderson Silva is the only fighter to come into the UFC and absolutely DOMINATE.. If you wanna be the best you have to beat the best and the best is in the UFC. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Jones will destroy Machida. This will not be a good fight. Jones will dominate from beginning to the end. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 5, 2011 Super User Posted December 5, 2011 Jones will destroy Machida. This will not be a good fight. Jones will dominate from beginning to the end. The closer this fight gets - the more I agree with this. I've been looking back at Machida's more recent bouts. I think he may actually be seriously killed in this fight. A-Jay Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted December 6, 2011 Super User Posted December 6, 2011 I 100% disagree with this being a bad fight unless Machida gets caught with a huge shot early. He's the toughest guy to hit in the UFC and will bring things to Jones that he's never seen before (as Jones will to him). Just a couple years ago everyone was saying Machida was unbeatable and now it's like he's being viewed as a scrub after getting KO'd by Rua and losing a close decision with Rampage. Rampage hung with Jones for quite a while despite abandoning his game plan early and he's well past his prime at this point while Machida is still relatively fresh. Machida is incredibly technical and disciplined, and I see this fight going at least 3 competitive rounds. Jones is still wet behind the ears despite being insanely talented and I wouldn't be surprised to see him lose a decision. As far as TUF goes, Mayhem looked the worst I've ever seen him. He's too experienced to come in unprepared with his cardio against a guy like Bisping, so it had to be the adrenaline dump. He was pretty fresh for all 5 rounds against Shields a couple years ago. I have a feeling he'll be a lot more competitive next time out. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 11, 2011 Super User Posted December 11, 2011 Frank M just snapped the big nogs arm off ! ! Oh Man ! A-Jay Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 11, 2011 Super User Posted December 11, 2011 Jones has chocked out the Karate Kid. A-Jay Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted December 11, 2011 Super User Posted December 11, 2011 I cannot believe Big Nog didn't just keep up with the GnP... Mir was blasted and the uppercut under the armpit a la Hendo v Fedor was WIDE OPEN. Live by jits, die by jits. Nog should have talked to Tim Sylvia before the fight so he would have known that Mir is more than happy to break something if you do not want to tap. That was nasty and may very likely result in a mildly premature retirement. Machida looked awesome in the first round... sort of like Hendo against Anderson Silva. That was a crazy choke but a bit brutal to see a guy just crumble to the ground like that after being choked unconscious standing. I would really like to see a rematch if Machida can win his next two high level bouts and Jones is still champ. By far the most competitive fight for Jones thus far. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 11, 2011 Super User Posted December 11, 2011 Yup - I believe Jones showed some respect for Machida by starting out slow as not to get caught with something early. But after Machida punched Jones in the squash a few times Jones went to a more offensive posture and the fight was over. I do agree that Jones relative inexperience showed itself a bit in this one. And if there is a fighter out there who can get to Jones's legs without getting killed, a challenger might have a somewhat better chance of at least evening the playing field a bit. It's scarey to think about, but Jones could get even better if he could fight a guy that could match up better against him, but is there Anyone who can ? A-Jay Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted December 11, 2011 Super User Posted December 11, 2011 A-Jay... I'm starting to think that Dan Henderson's right hand is the biggest challenge for him at this point in the LHW division, and it will be tough for Hendo to get in close enough to connect with it. I doubt Jones will circle to the left like Bisping did. Rashad has an outside shot as well, but I just don't see anyone having a good shot to beat him right now. I would love to see Anderson Silva come up for one fight before he gets too old, otherwise Jones' biggest challenge may not occur until he goes up to HW to face guys a lot bigger than him. Quote
