This looks like an awesome trip! If it wasn't nearly 5000 miles for me round trip I'd love to be there. Maybe next year I can make this my vacation. Have a great time fellas and best of luck with a bunch of PB's.

Hey that means you're closer than me! :)

You ARE driving, RIGHT Glenn? After all, it IS a Roadtrip! :)

Hey RW, there might be a way to bottle all that "bad air" and start your own catfish bait company. You could call it "Bad Air Baits"!

Rage Tail is already taken. :)

Ya.....no. :) We're flying in as we always do, although we have, in fact, checked driving routes and times. But 3-4 days driving each way for a total of 5,000-6,000 miles is a bit much. ;)

Glenn,

What is your typical method for bringing your tackle. Do you ship it ahead, or check it, or what?

I was about to say you're nuts to drive out a boat but then saw that you'll be flying. I imagine just about everyone there with a boat would love to have you and your better half aboard. Looking forward to seeing all the pics and reading the stories.

Norcalbasssin and scrutch. unless you are REAL picky about your rods and reels, there should be enough to go around. Hop on a plane and join us, Tell us ahead of time what lures you are comfortable using and we will make sure they are available, but be reasonable. Very few of us are rich.

A reminder to all. This is just a fishing trip, not a tournament.

I have indeed shipped everything - rods, reels, tackle, etc. - to the event and back. But that gets a little pricey even at ground rates. Last year we decided to forgo the shipping and borrowed gear other members graciously offered. We were never left wanting....except perhaps for a hook sharpener.

I've got plenty of combos on my boat, seven baitcasters and seven spinning. The baitcasters are four Extremes, two Nitros, and one lightweight BPS baitcast combo. I rarely use the baitcasters. Also have a variety of spinning combos, all with Shimano Saros spinning reels.

I have more combos than I will use, being a non boater. I will bring about 11-12 combos and only take a couple each day as to not clutter up someone else's boat!

Hmm...

If it's just about gear, we have it covered...Promise!

RW is a gear junkie! I have seen so many different combos this guy has, it almost beat out BassPro!

I was asking because I'm planning a family trip to Orlando after the Roadtrip. We will be flying and wanted to get some cheap advice from a guy I KNEW had experience in that subject.

As for the Roadtrip, I'm committed already, just haven't filled out Long Mike's Registration sheet yet (waiting on a buddy to decide one way or the other). My tackle is coming free of charge behind my truck in my boat. I to would be happy to lend some gear to someone who might need something.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this spring!!! :respect-059:

No problem. If you want some tips for packing your gear for shipping, just PM me. I built my own rod container on the cheap, and it worked perfectly for 6 trips, and it's still in excellent shape.

Hey scrutch, go ahead and send your form in. I will need a separate form from your buddy. It's important that I have a signed Release of Liability from all attendees.

Ok Mike, I'm not sure yet about needing a roomie, or if I'll have room in my boat though. I guess I can pm you with any updates.

Scrutch-

I have a place on the Harris Chain of Lakes==about 45minutes from Orlando. When will you be there and are you planning to do any fishing?

WMD, are you going to be able to make the road trip this year? Rhino and I need another old fart along to help keep the kids in line.

Yessir! I have my reservations already and will be sending in my form tomorrow or Monday-or as soon as I can kick my printer into submission and get the form printed out!

I'll be driving in from the Harris Chain in Florida if anyone is coming from that direction and needs a ride.

Coming to Disney with my family on 6-17-12 and leaving on 6-29-12. I will be looking to do some fishing towards the middle and end of my stay. It would be great fun to meet up with you!

Unfortunately the last 2 weeks in June is when I will be in Canada chasing those elusive smallmouth.

Looking forward to seeing you at Gunnersville.

Hey Glenn, Gene, I've never been to a BR Road trip so I'm not sure how the boater/non boater thing works. Count me in as a boater. I can take 3 guys (plus myself) out comfortably in my boat if needed. probably won't stay the night but I'll be there atleast one day for sure.

That's great news Mike. Just show up and the boater/non boater thing just seems to always happen. PM me and let me know your details. We might be able to double up on some of the cost and make it cheaper for both of us.
