Super User Fishing Rhino Posted April 17, 2012 Super User Posted April 17, 2012 You have a rain suit right? Jeff I have two. I'll guarantee it won't be anything near like we fished in at Pickwick two years ago. Steezy and I fished in the monsoon that shut down Nashville, and parts of I-40. Big O had two bilge pumps running in his boat and the water in the cockpit was above his ankles. Quote

Super User Chris at Tech Posted April 17, 2012 Super User Posted April 17, 2012 Chris at Tech, if you still haven't got a ride for Monday, you can fish with Scorcher214 and me. Thanks -- I'll keep this in mind. Fishing Rhino let me know I can probably fish with he and RW on Mon, so I'm planning to call tomorrow to see if that still works. Quote
Dinky Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Got a rain suit or two. Don't have a lightning suit. Yeah, but you will have 7' a lightning rod in your hand! Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 17, 2012 Super User Posted April 17, 2012 Big-O had fish swimming around in his boat that day. Some of us, deciding that excretion being the bitter part of valor, remained ashore. We got "soaked" as well. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted April 17, 2012 Super User Posted April 17, 2012 Pickwick, now that was an event. Torrential rain. Lightening all around. One of us, who has an aluminum boat, categorically refused to take his boat off the trailer, much to the dismay of his fishing partner. Kent will never forgive me for that. Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted April 18, 2012 Super User Posted April 18, 2012 Well everyone make sure to bring your rain suits, and extra beverages in case some want to stay on land! Jeff Quote

Super User Chris at Tech Posted April 18, 2012 Super User Posted April 18, 2012 Tom is on the road, but that works for me. He confirmed with me last night via PM before he hit the road. It's the 3 of us on Monday! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 18, 2012 Super User Posted April 18, 2012 Surfing the net for lure recommendations that are working RIGHT NOW: Spinnerbaits seem to be the talk. The Rig, of course. Soft plastics shallow, especially shakey heads. Square biils and lipless cranks. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 LOL Kent. I'm doing the same thing. Most locations seem to be new grass too or shad spawn locations. Usually grass also in that lake from what I'm learning. Quote
.Paxamus. Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Just fished a tourny there, water was very clear 3-4 feet visibility in some areas, key in on new growth Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted April 18, 2012 Super User Posted April 18, 2012 I've seeing spinnerbaits, swimjigs, swimbaits, shallow cranks, jigs and plastics in 4-8 FOW as the hot patterns. Quote

Super User Chris at Tech Posted April 18, 2012 Super User Posted April 18, 2012 Can I call "dibbs" to fish with Lane? Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 PS> RW didn't you get the memo....."The RIG" has been banned from all Bass Resource events! Agreed! I'm bringing the one I have. Someone will have to show me how to fish it or rig it. Quote
riskkid 2 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Agreed! I'm bringing the one I have. Someone will have to show me how to fish it or rig it. It's like throwing a chandeleir out in the water, watch the big splash and tow it in....keep doing it til your arm eventually falls off Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 It's like throwing a chandeleir out in the water, watch the big splash and tow it in....keep doing it til your arm eventually falls off Sounds like fun. On a serious note I will have a couple rods for sale if anyone is interested. On is a Browning rod and one is a GLX MBR 843. If your interested hit me up down on the lake. Quote
soopd Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I would love to come down one day and fish. I can not afford to take off work more than one day. I only live about 2.5 hrs away and I have never fished guntersville. Any seat openings still available? Would only be able to stay and fish one day. Quote
CFuller Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Hope the weather and the bass are cooperative for you all next week on Guntersville!! Fish well! Quote
