Hey just wanted to get your thoughts on Vicious fluorocarbon line? I got 4 250 yd spools of 15# for $11.00. Not sure if i have 1000 yds of junk or maybe a good deal. I figured at worst i could use some KVD L&L on it if there was a lot of twist and memory.. Whats your thoughts??

I bought some 15 lb. the other day on a total impulse. I have only fished it once. It's a little stiffer than the berkley stuff I was using (14 lb.) . It seems to be less sensitive to knot burning. I use it for leader material and I like it. Rocks don't tear it up and it survived the pike test. I had a pike inhale a crank deep while bass fishing a few days ago. The rear treble actually exited the gills and hooked into the side of its body so the line was 100% in the mouth. I'm not a line guru so maybe someone else will chime in but my overall impression was good.

My brother has been through all but the very premium flouro. He prefers this stuff over other brands. Including 100% from Berkley (which I have used, and felt it was pretty decent stuff)

FWIW, lots of people hated the stuff back then when he first starting using it. I have fished with it some, on one of his rods while out fishing, and it seemed to be pretty decent. I ran some tests with it, a scale, and weights and found it to be pretty close to the listed break strength.

If I see a drawback I would say it is, that it is stiff. He uses lots of 8lb on spinning rods and those large spool BPS spinning reels so maybe the large spool reel eliminates any line management problems.

I used Vicious 10lb flouro on several rods this past season. It gave me a great feel for the baits but it has more memory than I care for. I will probably go back to berkley next season and use what I have left as leader material for braid.

I have a spool of 14 and spool of 17lb of their new floro and have been pretty impressed with it so far. Gave the 14 a real test fishing FB jigs in 20-40 feet of water at Table Rock and it performed really well. It pulled a nice 3lb smallie out of a tree in about 35' of water and was plenty sensitive for me to feel spots pecking the bait. Their orginal live had too much memory for me but it wasn't bad at all on this stuff. It did break right at my reel on one hookset but not sure what caused it.

I bought a small spool of it earlier this year and I liked it better than some of the more expensive brands out there.

I use Vicious Fluorocarbon on just about all of my rods. I use 15 pound for spinner baits, skinny dippers, and some of my jigs. I love it! Vicious is tough and strong but still has plenty of sensitivity. Not to mention if you don't have a whole lot of money to spend on fishing line, Vicious fits at tight budget really well.

_{its all i use. vicious pro elite fluoro is the best in my opinion. super tough sensitive, n everything else u can think of. i use the 20lb for flippin n pitchin the nasty stuff, 15lb for jigs, 12lb n 10lb for spinnerbaits, senkos, topwaters, ect n the 6lb n or 6lb for drop shotting n more finesse stuff. i love it n will never use n e thing else cus like i said its awesome n not to mention the price is great. oh yea i use their braid a lot too, actually im runnin the 50lb braid with a 20lb leader for my flippin n pitchin. amazing stuff, everything from vicious is amazing.}
