50's, 60's, early to mid 70's rock, very very limited amount of 80's pop/rock, ALL of the 90's including some rap, and MOST OF THE NEW MUSIC TODAY IS PURE GARBAGE

Some of the more modern urban music I like is Alicia Keys, and new yet, and GREAT is Aloe Blacc.

Also really like fiver finger death punch. Hard rock, but not that growling non sense I can't understand.

I listen to almost everything though today's country, 90's rock/pop, and hard rock/not metal octane station, even the message channel-new christian music

It's a music conversation but when listening to the xm, I also listen to plenty of talk radio.

If you listen to the growling music long enough, you can understand what they are saying. With the exception of some of the hardcore death metal bands. Those you mainly just pick up on a couple of words here and there.

Just wondering what type of music you guys like, I figure since its a fishing site that most of you are probably into country music. personally my favorite music is Heavy Metal, I also like Classic Rock. My favorite band is Iron Maiden.

My favorite is Iron Maiden too! I have been listening to them in my car for almost 2 years straight. I just got into them 2 years ago. I wish I would have listened to them sooner.

But can they touch the most theatrical head banger of all time? Mr. Alice Cooper.

Ya man, they rock! I have not seen them live. I thought about it the last time they rolled through Chicago, but I didn't go. A buddy of mine went and was disappointed. He said they played mostly new stuff. I have Flight 666 and also Rock in Rio. They look like they do put on one heck of a live show. I definitely would like to see them if they come around again. Then again with an album titled The Final Frontier, it does not sound like they are going to tour anymore.

I saw them back in 86 (Somewhere in Time)so it was all the classic stuff, then I saw the Dickinson reunion tour (Brave New World) with Halford & Queensryche, Pretty much still classic stuff, also saw them on the Ozfest tour all classics once again..I would love to hear some new stuff next time.

I heard Final Frontier is not going to be there last album, they just liked the name apparently.

I've seen Cooper twice (Raise your Fist & Yell) tour 86 or 87 then again on the Gruesom Twosome tour with Rob Zombie last year. He still puts on a great show although Rob Zombie blew him away. Maiden stll kills 'em all

If anyones interested I have a group on Facebook called Hard Rock & Heavy Metal, if you want to check it out. http://www.facebook.com/groups/hardrockheavymetal/

Well that explains why Alice didn't come back to bham last year. I knew he was on tour but didn't know who with and never delved into it. It appears that Mr Zombie is not allowed to play shows in bham anymore. It stirred up a big uproar when he came with korn. Thanks to a sect of an organization which will remain nameless, you now have to go to out of state to see any decent metal bands. Now as for classic rock, country, and rap. They are most welcome here.

Metal bands usually come to the smaller clubs here in Buffalo, The Town Ballroom is a great club for Metal.

We get bands like Dope, and some of the smaller bands, not saying dope is small. The Clown Prince of Darkness aka Marilyn Manson, comes here a lot. Yet none of the big name international touring bands, or black metal bands ever come.

Didn't volbeat go there a few months back along with five finger deathpunch and all that remains. But your right town ballroom usually has the heavier bands here in buff.

Nice that was one ofthe shows I wanted to see but the national guard seems to have a 6th sense of when great shows are and schedules drills to ft drum the same days. They did it to a FFDP show theory of a dead man and a Hollywood undead show missed em all lol.

Lets not lump us all into the country catergory. :D

I listen to some old country. But mainly in order of favorite.

Melodic Death Metal, Black Metal, Classical (symphony), Punk, Gutter Punk, Ska, Gutter Ska, Heavy Metal, Classic Rock, Hardcore Rap, Gangster Rap, Old School Rap, old country.

Pretty diverse aren't I? ;)

Oh, and my current favorite band is Cradle of Filth.

Melodic death metal??? never heard of that, i'd imagine it sounds like Brahms all ticked off? i like jazz based groove. John Scofield is a monster. Pretty odd for a redneck huh!
