Spro Frog Sinking!

My spro bronze eye jr. frogs are sinking because they fill with water really bad. I am using 50 pound power pro braid.

Do you guys have any advice to help me stop the sinking. Caulk? Tape? Bubble gum?

If it is just the hook hole where water is coming in, fill it with gorilla glue. Then make a 1/4" slit with a razor blade lengthwise down the bait, right between the eyes on the top of the frog. This will let the air out, and since it is above water most of the time, keep your frog from filling up.

I tried gorilla glue the other day and it came out with the first fish I caught.  I usually just squeeze every couple casts.  For whatever reason some Spro frogs are worse than other about filling up with water.  I actually use Megastrike on the frog and put a little in the hole...seems to help for a while.

Try a dab of marine epoxy sealant where the hook enters and exits the frog body.

The tip 4biz gave you is the solution.  I do this with all my frogs and it works perfectly.  I've always wondered why some frogs sink more than others but it's just the way they have always been.

What about silicone caulk instead of Gorilla Glue?

Anyone tried drilling the hole in the butt of the frog and if so how does it work?

Yeah.  Sorry I should have mentioned that in my previous post.  I've done that to all my frogs and it works great.  No more squeezing the water out.  I believe it has increased the hook ups also.

I will try the hole trick if the gorilla glue method doesn't work.

How does a hole keep it from accumulating water if the hook hole is what causes water to be taken in??? :-?

I'm guessing with a hole in the very back of the frog any water flows out during the retrieve.  Kinda like forgetting to put the plug in the boat.  As long as yer scootin' along the water flows right out.  Not that I've ever done that.  

All I can say for sure is it works for me.

I fish my frog pretty slow, does that work with a slow retrieve?

I can cast mine in open water and let it sit and they're still floatin' when I start walking 'em in.  The only frog that gave me any trouble was my spro poppin' frog.  I was in a hurry when I drilled the hole and forgot to trim it with the scissors.  A couple of snips and it was good to go.

Just took some slivers of cork from my wifes wine bottle cork and slid(forced) them in when i was changing out the crummy rubber skirts for silicone(rubber ones always melt on me) slide the cork in the weight hole before you glue the weight back in. works great.

Testing it out tomorrow. So far I've had no problems with the Spro popper taking on water.

So far it works good. The caulk and glue came out after three bass but I re - did it.
