Dogbite Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I've been wanting to get a Ride 115 but I found a used Ascend 12 SOT for $300.00 and decided to give it try. The kayak does not appear to have been used much but it does have a baseball size indentation in the hull at about the center point. Is this something that I should try and fix and if so how. At 52 I'm new to fishing & kayaking but it has gotten in my blood quickly. Thanks for any help offered. Quote
flipin4bass Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 If you can get to that spot on the inside of the hull, you can use a heat gun on the outside to warm it up and press it back out. If you've never used a heat gun before you might consider getting some help because you could damage your hull if you're not careful. If it doesn't affect your kayak's performance you might just want to let it be. By the way, you're never too old for kayak fishing. Enjoy! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 23, 2011 Super User Posted November 23, 2011 If it doesn't affect your kayak's performance you might just want to let it be. That would be my recommendation as well. The Ascend is a good "get you in the door" boat, but isn't the most durable. Treat it well, and you'll enjoy many trips in it. Quote
