The wind finally let up so I hit the lake for what would most likely be the dreaded Last Trip. Water temps were high 30's. First stop was a "hole" with some wood in 35 fow. Hummingbird revealed that there were several fish on it. Turned out to be brown fatties. First few casts they gobbled up the swimbait but then shut off. This was the coldest water I've caught bass with a swimbait. But, it was over just as quickly as it started. I managed to stay unfrozed until dark and took home a few "Eater" sized walleyes for diner. It's been a decent season.

I hope this winter isn't too long.

Great Fish AJ!!

I actually really miss the Michigan Summers up in the northern lower. Next summer, maybe I'll get to hit Hillman, Mi. again and get in some football action again.

Tune up the snow blower.......;)

Nice. I take you aren't an Ice Fisherman.

Nice to finish your open water season on a positive note. A 19" incher is a pretty good fish! My boat getting winterized today so I know that dreaded feeling.

Thanks All -

And RW - That Roadtrip might be in the cards for me in the spring.

I'll be looking for those detail, hoping for the right set of circumstances and of course reasonable weather . . .

hopefully you can take 1 more before its all said and done...nice catch. how were those walleye cakes?

I haven't put up the gear just yet, so there is a chance.

But the lakes here will start to freeze over very soon.

The cakes were quite tasty - I went with the beer batter.

:)
