NateFollmer Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Who has it and who is addicted already? I freaking love this game and it even plays on my older crappy secondary PC. Quote
endless Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I want it and trying to get it for Christmas for the PS3. One of my must have gifts I told the wife. This 1 and I'm trying to get Saint's Row3 and Assassin's Creed Revelations as well. Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 Too many games at once! LOL I spent a good 2 hours today shooting salmon as they jumped up a small waterfall... And lighting people on fire... And getting hit like a golf ball by giants. Quote
endless Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I love games lol. I still haven't beat Crysis 2, I'm at the end of Resistance 3, Haven't touch Batman Arkham City but haven't played it since I'm dead on Call Of Duty MW3 Multiplayer. I played campaign for a second can't leave the multiplayer alone. Another great game you might like is Deus Ex Human Revolution. If you like the RPG games like Elder Scrolls style of game try the Dragon Age series(1 and 2) or FallOuts if haven't tried any those yet. And I can't wait to get Skyrim. I'm patiently waiting fro the new Mass Effect 3 to hit store I think in March. Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 I pretty much quit playing games after I finished Fallout 3... Just got Skyrim because I couldn't pass it up. Makes me wish I would have stayed in game development Maybe when the construction set comes out for the game I'll make a sweet mod and get back into it LOL Quote
jeremyt Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Just picked it up for 360 and can't wait to start it tonight. Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 Give yourself about 10 days to just explore... then do the quests It's the little things that make this game cool. Quote
Stringjam Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Makes me wish I would have stayed in game development Maybe when the construction set comes out for the game I'll make a sweet mod and get back into it LOL I spend more time playing around with the CryEngine2 SDK than I actually do playing games, anymore. I completely lose track of time when I'm in there....I was off yesterday and I spent all day just messing around with terrain textures and lighting variables! If I ever actually get into modeling and asset creation I will have to quit my job and hide in a basement for a few years. I've been working on a map for awhile that resembles something closer to home (Missouri) as far as landscape / vegetation. My goal was to make it a free-roam single player level within 3 years....but that's never going to happen, I just made it too enormous to begin with. A few pics from the editor: Quote
endless Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I got Skyrim now but must wait till Christmas for that and my Assassin Creed Revelations. I think my wife still trying to get me my Saints Row 3 also. Side note we got our son the Wii with Mario Kart since my Wii broke and my Mario Kart was destroyed be my niece's kids. Man I was mad about that. Just now can't wait to play Skyrim, COME ON CHRISTMAS!!!!! Quote
I.rar Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I put over 200 hours into oblivion and am nowhere near completing the game. If I picked up skyrim , I would be sleeping outside lol. I will be getting mw3 though! Quote

I will be getting mw3 though! For what system?? I have for the PS3. I didn't know till last night you could do split screen for the online Multiplayer so me, my brother, and my buddy we sat there and played hardcore kill confirmed. Friendly fire sucks lol and when you get a kill your own team mate will try to steal your dog tag before you collect it. You will be sprinting towards your tag and all of sudden cut off by your own team mate at the last second from behind you. You got some people that's all the do use the riot shield and try to steal tags just for the points. Quote
I.rar Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Just got the ps3 a few weeks ago so it would be for that. No more annual online fees!! Split screen online play sounds pretty dope. I wonder if my wife would play too lol. Quote
I.rar Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Btw Xbox is doing free live until Monday at midnight so I've been hitting up mw2. Quote

GrundleLove Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I legit built my new computer rig with Skyrim in mind. Didnt know that I would be able to run the video on Ultra settings, what a treat! Quote
jeremyt Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 So far the gamee has been awesome, screwed up a few times and had to reset ( don't kill livestock in towns) other than that I am loving it. 1 Quote
NateFollmer Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 Chickens can be a witness to crimes, so don't kill anyone while their are chickens around... I'm serious. I only have about 30 hours logged and am only level 8 right now. I'm spending all my time exploring, smithing and collecting ingredients for making poisons (my 1 character is a Brenton Mage and my other is a Wood Elf Archer, with both I'm focusing mainly on sneak/thieving). Heck, just plain old hunting is fun in the game. I probably have killed about 100 deer and elk so far lol Check out this list of mods available so far. My favorite is Val's Crafting Meltdown... All those worthless accessories in the game (pots, pans, plates, etc...) can be melted down and used to make weapons! Finally, a reason to collect wooden plates! http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/25/skyrim-mods-the-20-best-so-far/ StringJam, that's an awesome looking map! Map making is a freakin' ton of work, even if you already have all the models done. I tried making an old hospital from Gears of War and I only had the basic layout done and modeled about 3 or 4 things and ran out of free time LOL Here's my old portfolio (those railings and pillars under personal work were from the map): http://nfollmer.daportfolio.com/ Quote

I wish I had modeling skills....I've always wanted to get into 3DS Max but I know it's very deep and would require more time than I have. Thankfully the guys over at CryDev are very generous with assets (not to mention that CryTek includes all of their assets / textures/ materials in the SDK), so it's easy to put together something very nice with "community" stuff. Red Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Skyrim looks cool. I have only had the Xbox for a short time. I am still working on Assassins Creed. Expecting Assassins Creed II, Oblivion, and Duke Nukem for Christmas. Too many games!! Quote

Thanks man! I really miss doing that stuff, but it is time consuming! Normally, it only takes about a day at most to make something like those pillars (including hi poly model to bake maps with), but with what little time I have, it was taking me like 2 weeks... You really lose motivation Here's as far as the map had gotten (was using the Unreal Development Kit - you should check that out also, it's free) - http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg288/nfollmer/Hospital%20Map/ The wall and floor textures were just placeholders... I couldn't stand looking at those checkers anymore. If we ever get time, I'll model and texture and you can place objects and design and we will make a map LOL I want to make a fishing game someday, but again... no time! Red - Assassins Creed 2 is leaps and bounds better than AC1, you'll love it if you like the first one. Oblivion is great, if you like it, get Morrowind (works on the 360, but was an Xbox game, can probably find it at GameStop for like 5 bucks). It's old, but it's the best game in the Elder Scrolls series (Skyrim may take over that spot though haha). Quote

NateFollmer Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 I haven't opened the level in at least a year. I bet I deleted it LOL Someday I'll work from home and do whatever I want, but then I won't have any money and my wife and kids will leave because I'm a lazy slob... Just can't win man... Quote
