"BRB" Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I prefer to fish over deer hunt. Even " when the weather outside is frightful" but I well take eating deer meat over fish any day. Which all ways puts me in a predicament this time of year. Most times by now I got a least one deer sometime two. But this year I have not even got a shot at one. And am about to get hungry. So far here in Arkansas its been a mild fall. We had a few cool day but last week I think it got up in the 80's. Not reel deerhunting weather if you ask me. But the more I get into bass fishing the more I loose interest in deerhunting. I find my self sitting in my deer stand looking a a lay down. Thinking if that laydown was in water were would my first flip be? Thinking of all the structure fishing I could do if they flood this area I was hunting!! I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and how you deal with it? Quote
Gregory M Cobb Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I am with you all the way, I have decided that I will trade fish for Deer and Elk, I have some friends that can't fish but they sure can hunt. So we make trades all the time. I keep them full of fish and they keep me full of deer and elk. I sold all my guns but a few i keep for robbers. I have increased my fishing rod collection. My skills have increased, all is well. That is my advise to you. Find some friends that are good hunters but bad fishermen. Quote
"BRB" Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 Thats a really good ideal. I didn't even think. I do have a few guys at work I gave some crappie to this year. I think one has kill two deer. I think he owes me a back strap or two!! Lol Quote

Predator Hunting bass fishing is number 1 far and wide for me.. but i do loveeeee a good dove field and busting quail!!! i also really love long range varmit shooting... its really fun setting up mu bench and misting a bunch of P/Dogs from 500 to 1200 meters.. cant beat the Night force 12-42X56BR setting on top a 30in Krieger extra heavy barrel 6.5MM-300RUM on a Nesika K action for the super long range duty or the .30-338 Lapua i built pretty much the same as the 6.5mm-300RUM cept shes built to handle the ULTRA ULTRA long range stuff pushing a NBT 125g at 4600FPS. just two of my babies both these guns wil shoot under 1/2MOA out to about 1200M they will shoot 1/4MOA out to 600M. Heres a pic of the .30-338 Lapua Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 23, 2011 Global Moderator Posted November 23, 2011 Seems like this time of year I always have the same problem. When I'm out fishing I'm thinking I should be deer hunting. When I'm out deer hunting I feel like I should be out fishing. It's been a good hunting season despite not shooting a big one yet though so I have no regrets this year really. Quote

bassinKS Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 i think i might be the only one who is the opposite way but for waterfowl hunting. I live for waterfowl hunting every time i am on a boat i pay close attention to where the ducks and geese are for the winter months but bass fishing is defiantly a close second with deer hunting third. i dont think there is a day that goes by without me thinking about waterfowl hunting or bass fishing Quote

But i am really starting to dig bass fishing again. Usually I am cruising bowhunting web sites, now I find myself being pulled to this site. Come fall it will be interesting to see where my priorities lie. Quote
bassinKS Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 ya come around September I start going to the duck hunting fourms which I am active on but once all the seasons are over I find myself back here haha. I am the same way every year I wonder if I will keep bass fishing after all the seasons start but I keep going back to hunting as my main hobby there is just something about having ducks locked up at 20yrds in your face when you pop up to shoot. it gets me just thinking about it lol Quote
