I am going to be purchasing a baitcast reel for my carrot stix original 6'6" mh rod at one of the upcoming online black friday sales. I am looking to spend under $160 and am only considering new reels. The ones that I am looking at are the curado 51e, curado 200g7, lews tournament speed spool, lews tournament mg, ardent edge tournament, pinnacle optimus xt, and the pflueger president. I am going to be using this for 1/4-5/8oz. jigs, rage craws, t-rigs, and other plastics. It won't be my main plastic setup just some variations of what I'm casting on my other setup. What I am looking for in my future reel is mostly dependability and smooth casting and retrieve. Weight, looks, and ergonomics don't play a major role in my decision. I am leaning towards the curado 51e at this point. Thanks in advance.

We have a Curado 51E listed in the Flea Market for $110.

Rumor has it these maybe on sale for $99 next week, Black Friday.

This is a great reel.

I don't have first hand knowledge on most of the reels you are looking at except the president which i just got. So far it is outstanding, however if you are open to other reels and looking for a good deal saving money Cabelas has a Quantum tour edition Pt for $99.

I'd go with the Lew's TP. Pflueger Patriarchs are pretty easy to find in the $120 range, that's not a bad option either.

wow thanks Ima I only fish Daiwa reels BUT will be buying me ten of these to flip on the Bay!!! easy 400-500 right there!

Or you could think like human being for a minute and let people who want to use it a good deal on a real the may already want.

This is a no brainer. Hands down get the Lews Tournament Pro.

That wasn't one of my options.

Your right I wasnt thinking like a human, but now I am why only buy ten? and make 400-500 when I can buy 20 and make 800-1000!! thanks for making me think about it a little more! Oh ya and people that want to fish them will still be getting a good deal! 165.00 Buy it now or best offer and free priority mail shipping thats almost half off retail!

If there is an additional discount for Cabelas club Visa members I may buy 30 or more depending on how much a discount I get! plus I got a whole mess of points I can turn in!'

BTW its Reel not "Real"

Packard, I have only used one of the reels you mentioned...the Curado 51E. Naturally I've read reviews on most of them. Still, my vote would be for the 51E. Although I haven't used any of the others on your list, I do have a few other middle-of-the-road reels to compare the 51E with. A Zillion 50th Anniversary, 3 Fuegos, an STX, Patriarch XT (a favorite!), an Alphas ito, a Sol, and one higher priced reel...a TD-Z 103HL Type R plus a few lower priced reels. I have to say the 51E impressed me. It is noisier on the cast than I am use to, but cast it does...very well.

I've got my 51E currently on a Falcon Elite 6'6" Medium. It pains me to say this, but this combo is out casting my ito/Zillion 6'6" Med XF combo with light weights. Maybe I need to try the ito on the Elite. Maybe it is because I am still learning to throw light weights. The 51E can't compare to the absolutely fluid retrieve (butter smooth, greased rails, or whatever else you might call it) of the Alphas ito. But, at $120, this reel has to be one of the best buys out there.

the pflueger prsident would be great.id see if maybe you could get a patriarch for that price.

Maybe not, but you should really consider it. The Lews TP can be found in your price range, and it's a hell of a reel.

I see nothing wrong with being a capitalist. this is exactly how retail works. nothing wrong with making a buck and still giving a decent deal on the reel. I however, would've kept quiet about this because it is a great idea and will work!!!

100% correct, thanks and have a good one.

just like two months ago i bought both my local dicks stores out of micro guide carrot sticks(not the wild models the models that retail at 150) as they had them for 89.97 and 75% off that i bought a total of 64 rods and have sold everyone of them in two weeks at 100 to 115 each. i got a great deal and the people that wanted to use them still saved about a 1\3rd. if theres something wrong with buying deals to make people a good deal and make a few bucks doing so then 95% of people are wrong.

I was going to go back and buy 20 more but they was all gone and I dont know how many people did this and I dont want the auction sites being to over loaded with them killing off the value to much..

Gander has some at 129.99 and they didnt move to many as far as I know and both my local stores had plenty but I dont want anymore so they can keep em lmao.
