BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 8, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 8, 2011 Wow. Just learned that Joe Frazier died from liver cancer today. Joe Frazier was one of the world's most popular and most admired fighters, and he was indeed a fighter, in and out of the ring, from the day he was born until his passing tonight. He was 67. What a great loss of a legend. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 8, 2011 Super User Posted November 8, 2011 Although he beat Ali at the Garden in 1971, Smokin' Joe Frazier will always be remembered for the Thrilla in Manila, The Fight Of The Century! :D Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 8, 2011 Super User Posted November 8, 2011 He was a great heavyweight, especially for a smaller guy with a short reach ( so was Marciano ), in the all time top 10 depending on who is doing the ranking. Ali, Fazier and Foreman were all epic fights, the Thrilla in Mailla was probably the greatest heavyweight bout ever, my favorite was Al;i vs foreman, the rope a dope. Wern't these fights before pay per view and were on network tv? Quote
GLADES Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I watched all of those fights back in the day. Some of the best boxing matches in history. Frazier is one of the best, because he beat the best. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 8, 2011 Super User Posted November 8, 2011 Down goes Frazier..... Too soon? Cosell ! Quote
northern basser Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 A legend in boxing when the sport was huge. Quote
BassThumb Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I'll remember Frazier for the body shots that lifted opponents off their feet a few inches. Quote
