I have not fished the Buckeye jig with the movable head.

Sounds like an interesting concept.

I've fished this "Scooter Jig" a bit.

This Model is offered with different style heads and with the Texas rigged plastic comes through cover well. You can easily change skirts to make any combination desired.

I am not that excited about the quality of the hook or the design used to attach it to the head. I would prefer a little beefier hook. Additionally, there is no way to replace it when needed as it is permanently attached to the head.

I have taken a few fish with it.

This bait is what gave me the inspiration to start fishing a light version of a punch rig when jig fishing almost exclusively.

I saw that ad in a magazine too. I would be afraid that the weight sliding around free could get the line hung up in heavy brush. I will wait to buy one until I see the reviews on it.

The way it sounded in the magazine it snaps in and is held on "tight" but the force of a strike/hookset allows the weight to slide up out of the way making it less likely to be thrown by the bass.

This jig was featured is Bassmaster recently. The author wrote that the jig's designer was losing 4 out of every 5 fish on regular football jigs in deep water, so he designed the break-away head design to prevent the bass from shaking the jig free.

Has anybody here ever had problems losing 80% of their fish of football jigs? It happens occasionally when a bass shakes it's head with a 3/4-1 oz jig in it's mouth, but 80% sounds WAY overblown to me. 2-5% is more reasonable I think.
