Muad Dib Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I got a new revo stx a lil while ago. the spool lever feels gunky when i depress it to release line. if i go slow if feels like something is binding is it. not sure if its not oiled right or over lubed or what. The other question is i hate the handle cause i keep hitting my knuckles. Can i switch it with a different handle from another model? thanks for any help t Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 If the reel is new enough, exchange it if you think something's really wrong. I'm not that far from you, if you'd rather, send it in and I'll clean it out and take a look. ABU should be able to confirm what's involved in a handle swap. I'd have to have it in front of me to see for sure. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 3, 2011 Super User Posted November 3, 2011 Agreed, it's a warranty issue. Quote
barroncooper Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 yes I know what you mean, i hate the swept handles. I ordered the skeet reese handle for my and haven't looked back since. If they no longer carry the skeet handle. the winch or toro handle is the same. it's like $20 from pure fishing Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted November 7, 2011 Super User Posted November 7, 2011 the spool release on your STX should be crisp. that said reels out of the box IMO are not lubed correctly. the difference between NIB and "serviced" is incredible. its well worth the dime to send reels in to the guys on the forum.
