TOAJosh Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Hey guys it's been about 45 here in Nashville during first sunlight with a water temp of 57. What's your favorite bait to throw in these conditions with smooth water and no activity? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 2, 2011 Global Moderator Posted November 2, 2011 I pay more attention to the water temp than the air temp this time of year. Depending on the clarity and the lake with 57 degree water I'd be fishing a rattle bait, spinnerbait, crank, shakeyhead, or a jig. Try a few diffrent baits at each spot and listen to the fish if you get a response! Quote
backwater4 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 X2 on the water temp before air temp. A crankbait is a good start, but don't be afraid to switch up quickly to slower baits. Quote
EJVH3 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Rattle trap if they are active or a suspending jerkbait if they are not. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 crankbait.. i've got water temp of 53 here and a crankbait has been the ticket.. Quote
TOAJosh Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 The only crankbait I have confidence in is a red eye 1/2 rattle trap Quote
hookset on 3 Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I think you would have better success if you went in he afternoon when things are stirring. In addition if there is some light wind to break up the flat surface then that is even better. Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 "Smoke on the water" top water. "Clear and clean" spinnerbait or rattle trap Quote
mikeeasttn Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 On Norris Lake NE of Knoxville we are experiencing the same conditions. The buzzbait and other top water work well until 9am, then cranks, spinnderbaits, and etc. as day wears on. Quote
dude loves to fish Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Buzzbait should do the trick, if not pull out the rattling bait. That seems to work for me. Quote
