Hey all. Just got a DROID smartphone. Was wondering if there was any cool fishing related apps out there I should check out.

Thanks

Someone just posted that type of topic not too long ago. I believe fishing advisor is what I had when I had the droid, but like most will say just go out there and fish ahaha.

Believe me I will be fishing. I was thinking about something like a weather app, preferably one that has a good wind forecast. Or some sort of log keeping deal. Mainly stuff I can use before and after the fishing trip.

Thanks

Cliff

I like the navionics app. You can look at lakes and rivers and plan your trips out.

Navionics Lakes US and Time2Fish lite are two good ones. The WeatherBug Clock widget for verizon is the best for upclose radar images.

Wunderground.com has the best weather with wind forecasts and are are usually right on the money for speed and direction. They don't have an app yet, but I'm hoping.

I have but 1 fishing app and in all honestly i have never used it. Mine covers saltwater size and limits, we do get fish here that we are unfamiliar with. For the most part any pre fishing preparation is done on my PC before I leave home. That would be clothing selection based on the weather, tides, and what people are catching and the better locations.

Livewell is a cool little log that has a length/girth to weight converter, picture album, and more.

If you want to keep up with the wind speeds any of the popular weather apps should do that. I have The Weather Channel app on my Evo and I use the hourly forecast for the day to see what the wind will be as the hours progress. You really can't get accurate wind forecasts until the same day.

Not sure if they have it for droid but fishing spots on iphone is great. It shows all the ponds and lakes close to where you are at.

Do you have more information on the avionics app? Like if you've had any major issues with it?

X 2 on the navionics app.It can take up alot of space because u actually highlight areas u want a detailed map of so the more you do this the more space it takes. Also it seems to do well on larger bodies of water but some of the smaller bodies theres not as much detail I do like it though but if you have it on your FF then u may not need it.my fishing advisor is an ok app too. Also I like Speed View which is a speedometer app.My boat only has a 60hp motor but the speedometer tube keeps getting debris in it and the app uses GPS for speed which is more accurate. I have not used fish notes but I will probably get it soon it looks like a good app to keep a journal of your catches.

Never had a problem with it. It has the same info as my Garmin on my boat that has a navionics chip. Lots of good info at your fingertips.

I have a lot of experience with the Navionics App if you want to know more, but I use it for iPhone. Still, very similar.

I have also just recently been experimenting with Navionics and i really like it alot. It shows boat rows, creek channels, humps. ridges, and alot more. It also tells you the speed in which you are moving at. If you are looking for a fishing game, I really love the Rapala fishing game. It's pretty cool. Just got it the other day.
