Nkybassfisherman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 For the guys that own or have had experience with this reel, what do you think of it? I'm getting another spinning setup and will probably pair it up with a 6'6" Med Abu Veritas. Quote
SDoolittle Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I have had a few of them over the years. They are very nice reels for the price range. Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 1, 2011 Super User Posted November 1, 2011 Nice reel for the money, however, if you can shell out the extra cash better get a Sahara, the price difference isn´t much but the Sahara is a much better reel. Quote

WdyCrankbait Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Yeah, I have one. It has done great for me! I keep wanting to get a replacement reel, like the Pfluger Supreme XT or Stradic Ci4. But, I cant justify it b/c the Sedona has never let down and I have about 5 years on it. Doubt you will go wrong picking up another one. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted November 2, 2011 Super User Posted November 2, 2011 I still have one that I bought years ago as my first reel I bought with my own money like 10+ years ago iv never cleaned it till last year and it still works like a charm it's now my wife/sons reel now only thing changed over the years was the rods Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted November 2, 2011 Super User Posted November 2, 2011 What size would you get for a 7' MF rod ? 2500? Quote
hookingem Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I had a sedona it was a good reel and took a beating, before it ended up at the bottom of a lake Quote
Super User tomustang Posted November 2, 2011 Super User Posted November 2, 2011 What size would you get for a 7' MF rod ? 2500? That's right, for the 2500 reel: 6lb/200yds, 8lb/140yds, 10lb/120yds are the capacities Quote
Nkybassfisherman Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 I had a sedona it was a good reel and took a beating, before it ended up at the bottom of a lake I've had that happen to a pro qual and st. croix mojo setup. Quote
Super User webertime Posted November 2, 2011 Super User Posted November 2, 2011 I have/had one that was from their first production year 1995 and it is still used by my buddy 30+ days a year as a primary reel. It could use a cleaning but it's still 100% functional and feels better than some of my newer and higher end stuff does after just one. At $60 they're a great reel. I also have a current model Sonora which is a Sedona minus one bearing and it feels very much the same as the Sedona. That all being said you can get a Sahara 2500/3000 for less than $60 shipped from Ebay. I find the alloy frame as opposed to the graphite to be noticably more rigid when fighting a larger fish. There are only 2 differences between the 2500 and 3000 size, the spool and knob on the handle, the body/rotor, everything else is the same and the 2500 and 3000 spools can be interchanged. I like the 3000 sized reel because you get a handle with a bigger knob. I say this because I notice the 3000 sized shimanos usually go for about 10% less than the 2500 size, even though for all intents and purposes they are the same reels. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted November 2, 2011 Super User Posted November 2, 2011 I agree, it'll be a better investment X 3!!!!!!!!! Quote
