I think its dumb. Do you really need 5 lures in the water imitating a school of fish? Why dont you just use dynamite. Im a purist i guess but its completely un called for to use that rig for bass. Cheaters i say. Yea Elias used it on Guntersville, which is probably why everyone is all on its nuts. I lost respect for that man after he used that rig. Its silly.

Wacky or T-rigged? Do you need scent to get them to bite the dynamite?

Is there really this much interest in this or are we seeing a brilliantly executed guerilla marketing campaign? I've seen numerous threads in multiple forums on multiple boards about this. It is something out of the norm, but really?

I doubt it, the maker has a 6 month wait on them.

I read today that the maker had set up near where the Everstart tournament is and had 400 for sale. Anglers were lined up to get them.

Well, I'll just run down there after work. My point was, they aren't readily available for general consumption.

In what way is it cheating though? And why lose respect for anyone? Noone called the guy with the first reel on a cane pole a cheater? Or when braid came out? Sensitive rods?

And if you lost respect for him you probably should lose it along with about 30 other guys that had one.

The way I look at it, it wasn't cheating. If anything it was a loop hole in the rule book...one that will be fixed and one that I'd be willing to bet will be fixed to ALLOW the use of this rig.

In my opinion, if the top ten finishers of the first tournament were using the Hydrowave, I bet people would call it cheating and stuff too,not because its breaking any rules, but only because ...

People will have their own opinions, and I can always respect anyones opinion out there. I just think its a little uncalled for to call someone a cheat. And maybe I just have a lot of respect for a person that makes their living fishing because I only WISH that I could, so I want to try and defend their honor when I can, especially when they can not.

I've already tried making one to use; I want to see what the fuss is all about. It works, there is no doubt. But it will not be the cure all. People will pay $50- and more for this and will never ever catch a fish on it. Because there is nothing special about it other than a very intelligent and proficient way to mimick a school of baitfish.

I think this rig is only a fad. But so was the KVD crank baits and the chatterbaits (for that matter spinnerbaits, jelly worms, and everything else that "changed" fishing as we know it)... but they did and still will catch fish. I think its overpriced as it stands, but people will pay it, so congrads to someone that realized that.

Sorry if I stepped on toes or anything. I hope the guy makes a fortune on it before the corporations take hold of it. I also hope that anyone that hates it because of all the fish it will "make you catch", gets to use it and then realizes it has almost nothing to do with the rig, but the location and the way you use it.

I'm not above putting stinger hooks on my stinger hooks. :P

Is it Cheating to use a Double Fluke Rig? The Alabama is just another variation of the rules. Although it looks freakish, I wouldn't mind getting a triple hookup. Just sayin

I think guys look at it as just a ton of hooks, and think it's a percentage game. That's not what it's meant for. It's a pretty specific tool for a pretty specific circumstance. Look at the K-Lake Everstart results...despite everyone and their brother throwing it, weights were better up here on Oneida for the Northern Open.

Again, to win you have to be the guy doing all the right things at the right time. No magic bait hocus pocus.

If I had water around here that I thought it would work in , I would use it. I don't see to many practical applications though for skipping it under docks, dragging it over or punching mats. It might be a viable alternitive to cranking on deep outside weedlines when fish are suspended in the weeds, or just out side them.

Let's get two, and I'll show you some spots at the Dump. B)

do these fish hit the rig at the same time or does one bass bite, keep reeling, and other bass hit it because they think the bass thats hooked up is chasing a school? i swear i've thought of this idea before it came out, just never pictured it with all those wires. if i woulda pursued a patent, it'd be the Mississippi rig  guess they're gonna have to up the limit
