Super User J Francho Posted October 27, 2011 Super User Posted October 27, 2011 Which is what a non boater (buddy tourney) in my club did. The boater had him back up the trailer so he could drive the boat on. Only he didn't remove the gate, just lowered it. The boater was waving his arms and screaming from the boat, and his wife was doing the same from shore. CRUSHED the tailgate. I've only ever seen one trailer (my buddy's Bullet) that wouldn't allow you to open the tailgate to back down. I do it on mine every time. Quote

I have a 20' Champion..................Al Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 27, 2011 Super User Posted October 27, 2011 I guess it's a rig by rig deal. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I was watching some thing on Discovery a few weeks about car theft. You guys are worried about a tail gate being stolen. They showed how fast your car can be stolen. They open the hood swap the computer and there off. Mind you a good aftermarket alarm will prevent this. It took them a total of 30 seconds to do that. After seeing that I would rather them take the tailgate. At lest I can go to a junk yard and get a new one. Quote

Same here. This year, I even started towing with the tailgate down. It may look a little funny, but my gas mileage is increased by about 10-15%. Quote
