OK, knock it off guys. At the rate things are going, one of you will be saying "My Mother can beat up your Mother."

In another thread a person mentioned over moderation, I think this is a prime example of that. Most people take pride in their schools and states, the facts that have been mentioned are purely for " bragging rights". IMO this thread is no different than rating someone's combo high or low.

In all honesty I'm jealous of the redfish they catch in LA, it's a great fishery.

So who cares?

LSU is by far a great place to go to school and enjoy college life.

Plus you can fish all year, both salt and freshwater.

If Michigan had the oil and gas revenues their tuition would be more competitive.

LSU rocks. Great place. Great education. Great football.

OK, I still give Michigan ice hockey. :)

P.S. Isn't this fun. At least we can have some fun with each other without bringing in bass fishing. Then again, Louisiana has some great bass fishing. Just ask KVD. :)

Great points Sam, I'm sure LSU is a fun school to go to. As long as the two guys I watched on TV the other day don't make up the menu in the school cafeteria.

In a repeat of a show I had never watched, Hairy Bikers visited Cajun Country and came up with a recipe for, wait for it, Chicken Fried NUTRIA! You could also call it chicken fried swamp rat.

Is this like a plan to keep the bayou free from a flood of yankees?

Lund, as I tell people who go to LSU football games not to ask what it is when invited by the LSU fans to have something to eat.

Just eat it, smile and say it is great.

Chicken fried nutria sounds good.

I bet fried possum and muskrat are great!!!! :)

I'm sure LSU and Michigan alums were all pleased with their college years... great places for kids to further their education. However, neither of them have anything on Oklahoma (well, except for LSU's National Championship a few years ago).

There's only one Oklahoma.

Back when I was just a youngster Sam, I got indoctrinated in the sport of trapping by the next door neighbor kid. He was 5 years older than I was, and taught me a lot about trapping the various critters that lived along the river and creeks that ran through our town. When he left for the military after high school, he left all of his traps with me to use.

I will gladly admit that I trapped a ton of muskrats, but I will just as gladly admit that I never ventured to put any of them on a plate for dinner! If I used any part of those marsh rats other than the fur, it was the hind quarters that I used for bait in my mink sets.

To this day, I just don't think I want to eat anything that smells like a muskrat, coon, or anything else that I had the pleasure of skinning out. If I got ahold of a Nutria today, I think I'd be better off selling the hide and using that money at the local Subway! :)

I have eaten coon quite a few times and its pretty good. It makes a good gravy and goes well in a gumbo. We trapped some nutria last week on our property and for the opening day of duck/deer season we are gonna roast one...the jury is still out on that one!

Lund, muskrat is not bad when fried.

Chewy and somewhat gamey but not bad. ;)

LSU E. J. OURSO COLLEGE GETS BOOST IN WORLDWIDE RANKINGS

October 25, 2011

PARIS, France – In its most recent ranking of the Top Business Schools, Eduniversal ranked the E. J. Ourso College of Business at 52 overall, an improvement of three spots. The college was ranked in the 4 palmes category, and was the 30th ranked public institution in that category.

Before leaving the subject of LSU football, I'd like to congratulate Coach Miles and the entire LSU football program for posting the second highest graduation rate in the SEC. LSU football’s Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 77 trails only Vanderbilt’s mark of 86. The only other SEC football program with a GSR above 70 is Florida at 76. To achieve such academic success along with great success on the field is truly commendable.

Just to bring you up to date.

Now go out and catch a big one and post some pics. I landed a six-pounder but I don't know how to post pics. Afterall, I did graduate from LSU so what do you expect!!! :D:D:D
