Palomar Knot 100% of the time ;)

I use polymer knots for everything but flouro. It's a fact that flourocarbon can cut itself when using a polymer. My logic is its not about the 99/100 that it works its the 1/100 that it doesn't work.

while i probably haven't had any more breakoffs with the palomar on flouro than any other knot, it's the fact that i've heard it's not good and that lowers my confidence in it. I prefer the trilene, improved clinch, or the double san diego jam.

Palomer knot for all of my bass fishing techniques.

double san diego jam or Three tag knot are the knots I use with my Sunline FC's 12 and under pound test I use the double san diego jam and over 12 is the T/T/K.. On Megabass FC's (Dragon call mainly) ties best with a palomar knot I have had knots fail on Sunline FC's with a well tied Palomar knot never with the other two, Im VERY OCD with knot tying and ALWAYS take the time to tie perfect knots.. On the Megabass FC's palomar knots are king and are the strongest but once again arent the best knot with Sunline FC's (These are the only two brands on FC's I use so cant speak for others) I believe the reason that the Palomar knot is great with Megabass lines is because M/B FC's are much softer then the stiffer/harder Sunline top end FC's and the harder/stiffer lines will cut its self with a Palomar knot and the Softer and more supple Megabass FC's dont/wont cut its self.

Main thing with any knot tied with FC is that you lube it well and KEEP THE KNOT LOOSE IN TILL ITS AT THE HOOK EYE THEN TIGHTEN IT ALL UP SLOWLY!!!!!

The fish in my avatar says, "Nay!" She is biased, though.

In what direction does her bias lead her (leader)? :)

How about a round of applause for DVT Mike! He'll be here all week, tip your bartenders, and please try the veal!

Improved clinch and double clinch works fine for me. Simple to tie too.
