Well, since I've purchased number of decent rods in the past month or so, I'm having a whale of a time when transporting them 2 hours to my cabin up north. I'm literally driving with the rods whacking my head on sharp turns.

Therefore, I'm looking to get a decent rod carrying case that can hold up to 4-5 bait casting rods. All of my rods are 7', so a case that can carry at least that long of a rod would be preferred.

Does anyone have any recommendations of quality rod carrying cases?

I use a Flambeau Bazuka or Bazuka Pro, can't remember which. Anyhoo, it fits rods up to about 85 inches with ease. I mount it to the roof racks on my car, has made transportation a breeze.

One tip, I find it much easier to load the rods backwards, ie handles in first.

I know exactly what you are looking for. The problem is there are few bags out there worth their salt. I ended up designing my own with 600 denier Army material with a 1/4in foam wall and faux lambs wool liner. I even added a long pocket on the side to carry about eght rels of line. Basically, it looks like a gun case except its 8ft long, so I get asked what type gun I'm carrying...a 50cal ! Other than that, it is reel sweet. Great for taking in and out of hotels while fishing on the road. BAsically, it woorks for me, so if you can get wth your local upholstery shop or seemstress, they can make your bag to spec!

Thanks for the response. It seems the Flambeau Bazooka only holds up to 6 1/2 ft rods, and since all of mine are 7', I'll need to find something bigger?

I have the Bazooka Pro case, it is telescopic and fits rods from 73" up to 102". It's easy to adjust and I've had 7 1/2' one piece rods in it with no problem. It got my rods back and forth to Mexico twice with no problems.

No issues...great product.
