I use XL but I can't say it's the best of what I have. I only wish I could have that rod/reel combo though!

My current favorite combo:

New Pfleuger Supreme XT 3500

Gander Mountain GSX Elite II 7' MH-F

Seaguar InvisX 10lb.

Great little reel, without a doubt one of the best values in light line reels.

Avid is a great line of rods, again one of the best bang for your buck rods out there.

InvizX is a fine line, it isn't my first choice, but it's a good mainstream fluoro.

Chronarch 100MG

Cumara CUC77M

12lb Tatsu

Lipless baits and squarebill up to 2.5 size.

Oldie but goodie, never used one though. 8.5/10

Cumaras are great, except for the model you love and I slightly dislike :D:D:D

Tatsu - you've convinced me to try this line next, and for that my wallet does not like you

Never fished a Powell but the must be pretty good to have a following like they do. I like my 50E and it's not supertuned, but I don't use it for plastics. P-line is one of my go to lines. I'd say 8/10 just because you have all that to fish senkos :D

My shakeyhead combo:

Rod:6'8" M Legend Tournament Bass spinning

Reel:Pfluegar Supreme XT 30 size

Only can comment on the supreme, I use my 30 on a clarus for pond fishing and like that set up.

Don't know if it's my favorite but a good all round set up.

Soron 40, 15# PP, 7'6 medium redbone.

I use this set up for jetties, beach, flats. Handles a good range of lure weights, exceptionally distance and the backbone to handle some fairly hefty fish. I have caught 100's and 100's of snook, tarpon, cuda, jack crevelles and bonita on this set up and lots of LMB too.

Quite often I use it in canals to for LMB,

Not a fan of the Steez product line. Plus, they're above my pay scale! I have never heard of the rod sorry.

Mine

Rod: QTC705f - Quantum Superlite PT (Spinning)

Reel: TE30PTIB - Quantum Tour PT

Line: P-Line Flouro (6-8lb.)

I love this rod for small finesse lures, live bait rigging and drop shots. Plus they are very light and are very sensitive. For a medium action rod I have been really surprised on how much power there is to this rod. The reel is a little on the heavy side for my liking but can't wait for the new smoke series spinning reels come out.

The black sheep is made for fishing barramundi. High capacity for light lures from what I understand. The HLC on the other hand, is one of my favorite reels. I have 3 of them and they all get used quite a bit. You won't be dissapointed with it!

Love the Shimano lineup for rods,

and the curado is a great reel.

Vanish is junk. It's weak and I found it to be stretchy, as well as poor abrasion resistance.

KVD L&L Is just awesome

And Hookingem, since when does how much a combo's cost have to do with a rating of it?

Well Clary, The economic system we live under here in the United States drives prices of goods/services that are limited/desired up, and goods/services that are plentiful/undesired down. To illustrate this fundamental economic principle, let's say one consumer spends 3x more money than another on any given good/service. The consumer who spent the greater amount of capital is purchasing a good/service that is either A. more desirable and or B. more limited. So, by applying this economic principle to Redlinerobert's pricey combo you can see why I was shocked by the low rating it received. The pricetag on the combo Redlinerobert posted was dictated by either one or both of the forces mentioned above. Basically, Robert's combo is either A. unique or B. Quality. So, yes Clary I'll be the first one to admit I was a little surprised to see a piece of merchandise that posses traits of either being rare or quality faced with opposition. It's kinda like seeing a shooting star, it's unusual and tends to shock the viewer at first. On a side note post a description of a Walmart combo with cheap monofilament ,and see how that combo gets rated............Money isn't relevant!?!? It all goes back to the simple concept you get what you pay for. Oh wait this only holds true to people who don't try and purposely purchase miss marked items......
