Super User BASSclary Posted October 17, 2011 Super User Posted October 17, 2011 So I've seen this done on plenty of other forums I post on and thought you guys might enjoy it as well. If this is against any rules, by all means mods please close. Here's how it works; I start by stating a single combo of mine (Generally your favorite) The next person to post will then give my combo a 1-10 ranking, then state their combo. The person after he/she will then rate the above person's combo, and leave theirs to be rated. Continue cycle. Most people usually state what they like/dislike about the combo above too, to justify their ratings. Also, you shouldn't post much unless you add a combo to be rated also I think it's a fun game to me! I'll start off: BPS Johnny Morris Sig Series II - 6'8" MH/XF BPS Prolite - 6.4:1 Seagaur InvizX 15# fluorocarbon. The taper on the rod makes for a mean squarebill rod, and also doubles as a nice senko rod 1 Quote
Super User deep Posted October 17, 2011 Super User Posted October 17, 2011 Idk anything about the rod or the reel, but I'd give Invizx a 5 out of 10. Too stretchy, and average abrasion resistance. There are many better fluoros in the same price range, although I guess it depends on what qualities you're looking for. Spiderwire Ultracast fluoro is a much better alternative and the one I like, when I use fluoro (very rarely). My combo: Mattlures MH swimbait rod (10/20 lb line, 1-4 oz lures) Shimano Curado 301E 15 lb (20 lb true test) Yo-Zuri hybrid. A very decent and economic set-up for 5"-7" hard swimbaits. Quote
Fat-G Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Deep, the only problem with your swimmie combo is that it's not in my hands. Shimano FX 2500 6' Shakespeare Graphite Series M/F 8# Stren ...seriously. 1 Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 18, 2011 Super User Posted October 18, 2011 Can't touch Hooligan's reel (I have a Curado on my 893c), so I'll go with: Dobyns DX743c Curado 200e7 12# Trilene Fluorocarbon Quote
tossin hooks Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 NB, I've never seen a Dobyn's, but I can +1 the Curado 200E7... My fav is: Falcon McClellan 7'2" MH/MF Swim Jig rod Revo MGX-HS 12# Berkley Vanish "for the time being" Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted October 18, 2011 Super User Posted October 18, 2011 The rod is one of my favorites: 10 Same with the reel: 10 I have heard a lot of great things about the line. My favorite: MBR842C/ Core 50MG/ Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 This isn't an "all-around" rig, but it's perfect for small swimbaits, Rage Tail Space Monkey, Smokin' Rooster, Silver Buddy, single tail grubs, and swimming small jigs. :D Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Kent, I've heard of G Loomis. I think they are manufactured 25 minutes from my home but I don't own one. The Core is pretty high tech but I recall you had one for sale some time back ? The line is the bomb. I read your OPS on it when I joined and it's all I use now. My 10 of 10 combo........ POPIEL POCKET FISHERMAN with #6 WhoKnows mono. GAME OVER Quote

They feel a tad hollow to me, otherwise a very good reel. The 852, I've heard, is an excellent rod. YZ has too much stretch for my liking. Curado 50E Cumara 7'2 MH/F 14# Sunline Super FC Sniper Quote
hookingem Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 8/10 Wish it was a Core 50, but I love this little 50e's and happen to have a few myself. Super User Hooligan Posted October 18, 2011 Super User Posted October 18, 2011 Reel: Shimano Curado 50e Rod: 7' MH/F Avid Line: 15lb Invizx Use for T-rigs. Great little reel, without a doubt one of the best values in light line reels. Avid is a great line of rods, again one of the best bang for your buck rods out there. InvizX is a fine line, it isn't my first choice, but it's a good mainstream fluoro. Chronarch 100MG Cumara CUC77M 12lb Tatsu Lipless baits and squarebill up to 2.5 size. Quote
