NJBasstard Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 So it seams I'm having trouble with my PQ. While fishing this morning I felt the reel starting to lock up. I know very little about reels but it looks like the pinion gear isn't being held in place properly. I purchased this reel in march of this year, so I know the warranty is still good. My question is, if I ship it out to get replaced do I have to exchange it for the same reel? Quote

Packard Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 BPS is almost always good about returns. As long as you have the name of the person who bought it, which most likely is yourself, they can look it up in their system and if everything checks out they will give you a new PQ. Why would they give you a different reel? Quote

FL_Sharpshooter Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 BPS has very good customer service. My PQ was giving me problems a couple weeks ago. I took it in and the tech felt the reel and immediately could tell there was a problem. They replaced it right on the spot, no questions asked. Quote

Idon't know, but they didn't seam to have a problem doing so. They gave you a new PQ, right? The way you worded it in your first post made it seem like you were asking if you had to exchange for a PQ or if you could exchange for a Carbonlite for example. If you meant, do they give me the same exact reel you sent them, then it wouldn't be an exchange, just a repair. 1 Quote

I have yet to try a curado and since it seams the 50 is being discontinued I thought now would be a good time to get my hands on one. I'll be pairing it with my Kistler Mag. I was a little skeptical ordering a reel I've never tried but with all the hype around the Curado series I'm sure I'll be satisfied. Quote

I think you will be very happy with it. I have had excellent service from all three of my PQs over the last few years. I think they the best value out there under $100. I have heard few complaints. Bass Pro has always done the right thing when it comes to customer service in my experience. Good luck. Quote
