tnbassfisher Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I want to try those Mega-Bugs, but I'm not sure about the first one. Quote
bigtimfish Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I want the Mega Dog, I am just curious. How do you rig the wing ding and how do you fish it? Quote
Bass Junkie Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Interesting...They all look cool, but the wing ding is (Don't take this wrong) weird. Like has been ask before, how do ya rig/fish it???? It would have a good quivering action if t-rigged. I like the tube a lot. The eyes are a nice touch, as is the segmented body. Keep up the good work Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 That wingDing is the hybrid of the stick baits. I have been using it for two years. I use it to replace all kinds of other plastics. This weekend I used it to replace a rat. I was in Vermont throwing it with a 5/O Gamakatsu over weeds. When you pull it ,the bait swims its way over weeds creating a huge wake. It displaces water greater than any frog with a lot of action. The bass were attacking it to kill it. The first time I started using it I said "it looks like a injured bait fish-then a bird or small animal". Then I had seen where it really shines. This weekend there were tons of dragon flies there. That's what they were smashing . They thought it was a dragon fly. I was pulling it off of the lily pads and they were busting it. It and I haven't found its full potential yet. I promise this bait is awesome though. It gives the weedless application of a stick bait with the action of a wacky rig.It is great for throwing into the wood-skipt under docks -lily pad fields or mats of grass. I even Carolina rigged it.everyone that has seen me with it says "that's the stupidest thing I have ever seen- I say"just watch and learn. Quote
aarogb Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 The Mega Dog kinda looks like something from LFT's Hyper lineup. Quote
Fishing Cowgirl Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Shoot, I'll try a "wingding"..looks weird enough and I'll try whatever to land a nice LMB Quote
Dixon Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 That wingding looks really weird no offense. It looks like a plastic cross. Doesnt seem like it would have the fall of like the senko and to me kinda seems like the hook set would be harder with the cross like plastic. It would almost be keeping the bait from going down in the bass mouth. The one looks like the rage rooster plastic coming out. Hope theres a worm or lizard somewhere. Quote
Blue Streak Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 The bug and the tube are the ones I will try first. The tube looks like a dog gone squidd. Quote
Big Mike in Fl Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 everyone saying the wing ding looks weird, but how weird did a spinner bait or a buzzbait originally look to you, orhow bout a brush hog/sweetbeaver, they don't necessarily look like anything very realiztic, but they sure do catch fish... sometimes the new stuff catches because the fish aren't conditioned into staying away form them, and this is an innovative approach and spin on the stick bait craze...I'm very interested in it, and willbe tryign them out eventually. rubba bubba Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 It does look weird but what we think of it is irrelevant; does it cash fish? That is the only question. Then again, many lures catch people and not fish; this could prove to be the opposite in the sales department if the masses ignore the rule above (which is certainly a likely possibility). Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 28, 2009 Super User Posted July 28, 2009 The Mega Dog is exactly like what I do to my otters when punching heavy cover - remove the side paddles. Its gonna be a hit. Quote
bigtimfish Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 The Mega Dog kinda looks like something from LFT's Hyper lineup. You got it on the button. It looks like one of my personal favorite punching baits. The Lake Fork Hyperfreak Quote
senko_77 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Really like em Bobby. That Mud Bug is gonna whack them good. Have you tried wacky rigging the Wing Ding? Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 The WingDing has a built in wacky rig. You rig it just like a Texas rig StrickBait- Throw it our and twitch it. I have had zero hook up issues with this bait. Im going to the pool to see if glenn can get a video on here BRB Quote
