sidsmith03 Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Ive spent all summer fishing pickwick and falling in love with it, but I still only catch 8-10 fish everytime I go and I am constantly hearing of people catching big numbers and big fish at pickwick. Would any of you veterans be willing to take a young rookie out a few times and teach him and give him pointers? Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted October 21, 2011 Super User Posted October 21, 2011 Welcome to the forum. Don't know where all the Tennessee guys are, but I'm sure there are members in your area who'll be glad to share their local knowlege with you. Check the members map, and contact those in your area via a personal/private message. The 2010 annual road trip was held at Pickwick, and the fishing was great. You can catch numbers and size, and use a variety of baits to do it. I've been looking forward to fishing it again from the moment I left. Keep in mind, it's all relative. Some guys would give an eye tooth to catch eight to ten fish a day. Keep on fishing and don't be afraid to try different techniques and different baits. Fish can be finicky and turn their nose up today at what you caught them on yesterday. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 21, 2011 Super User Posted October 21, 2011 You've certainly come to the right place to learn how to get better. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted November 9, 2011 Super User Posted November 9, 2011 Welcome aboard! Several of us post in the Southeast section. We have at least six guys that fish Pickwick on a regular basis. Smallmouth on the river below the dam are turning on now. Quote
