Bass_Fanatic Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Has anyone used this line? They are running a special at TW 2 for 1. How does it compare to Invizx? Im looking at getting 14lb, 16lb, 12lb, and 20lb. Quote
Fat-G Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I have some, in the 14# test. It's very good line. I've had some unexplained breakoffs, but that is more due to my knots. I would buy the two for one spool in a heartbeat! Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted October 14, 2011 Super User Posted October 14, 2011 I'd call it very comparable to InvizX on most levels. At a two for one, it's a great deal. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 Does it have as much stretch as Invizx? I would like a line that is managable like Invizx, but less stretch. Quote

TBH, I've had mixed results with it. Smaller diameters have more stretch than InvizX, Large diameter lines have less, it seems. I'm not sure WHERE that division starts and why it seems that way, but it certainly does seem that way. I've not fished the Sunline in 10,12,or 14, for even comparison. I fish it on a couple reels in (I believe) 16 and 20 IIRC. I've also got it in 8lb and it seems very comparable to InvizX with the exception of having slightly more stretch. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 16, 2011 Super User Posted October 16, 2011 Unfortunately more manageability = more stretch, less manageable = less stretch. Tackle Tour did a pretty good fuoro "contest" a couple years back and that's pretty much the way it is. Tatsu is probably the best combination of qualities you'll find, but that's why it's so expensive. Quote
msolorio Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 get it, its great stuff! if ur gonna do any flippin n pitchin cover, go with sunline shooter, its designed for heavy cover applications, less stretch, super sensitive, very high abrasion resistance, n very managable. used invis x n hated it. i use vicious eclusively n love everything about all their products. ive used sniper n shooter n wud recommend it 100% Quote
pitchinthejig Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 I mainly fish Sunline FC's and Megabass Dragon call.. Sniper is a awesome line and I just bought 4X spools of 20# 4X of 16# 4X of 12# 4X of 10 and 4X of 7# its a really good FC and I bought so much because its my #2 FC and at that price I should have bought more. paying for ten spools and getting 20 cant be beat!!! It has some stretch to it anything under 10# but its not overly stretchy but handles just about as good as the softest of Monos... My main FC is Sunline Shooter the stuff is awesome if it was buy one get one I would have bought 400-500 worth and got 1000 worth of line!! but to bad lol Im used to paying 40 bucks for 164 yards lol... if you are looking for low stretch FC this is it, in 22# Ive bent out Owner 5/0 Wide gap plus hooks and if you have used those hooks that have a Extra hvy wire and are super stout hooks and Ive opened them up when punching matts with 20-30 feet of line out and stick them really hard... with 7-8# you will open up light wire hooks if you have the drag to tight and set the hook hard... its not as low stretch as braid but its VERY LOW stretch, Abrasion resistant and good handling line.. I well say this 7# shooter needs at least a 2000 size spool on a spinning reel and better a 2500 size spool because its a pretty stiff line and will spring off if the spool is to small L&L helps but still needs a bigger spool to handle well on a spinning reel, I dont fish spinning reels hardly at all but the two I keep in the boat a Steez 2500 and 2508 are both spooled with Sniper 2500 with 8# and 2508 with 7#. I use Sniper for Shallow cranking on 4 rigs in 10-12-14-16 on Steez 103 reels with Steez Flexlite sticks.. the line is solid enough to provide solid hook sets on long casts and not stretch to much with a lot of line out, If I used Shooter in the same number tests I would tear off a lot more fish due to hardly any stretch. IMHO the only line that compares to shooter is Tatsu and I have used it but like the sensitivity and long distance hook setting power of Shooter better. Sniper is IMHO the best handling FC on the market period but does have a little stretch to it... I will tell you this and maybe give you a better idea.. = Pound test its slightly less stretchy then Berkley 100% and to me quite a bit less stretchy then Invizx. 16# Sniper about the same stretch as 20# Berkley 100%. this should give you an idea of what the two lines will do for you.
