swmofisher Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Recently I tore my right ACL and just had surgery this morning. I won't be able to fish for about 3 months, but I went to a small local lake Tuesday evening and caught a 3lb. spot. It felt so good catching that fish and I thank good for giving me a big smile. God is good!!!!!! 2 Quote

quanjig Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Been there, left knee 2x, right knee 1x! Was out fishing with my buddy in a week after the last one! Not very mobile, but like you said, makes you happy just knowing you still have the ability to fish! Good luck, heal fast! Quote
Super User islandbass Posted October 14, 2011 Super User Posted October 14, 2011 Right on! I can relate when I broke my right ankle in two places, right at the start of the fishing season and it was not going to fully heal until nearly the end of the season. Like you, I did manage to get out just once, with crutches and all because my dad, who was visiting, wanted to go fishing. Hope you have a few more outings. Just listen to the Doc and hope you have a speedy recovery. You just need to complete your phrase. God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good. 'nuff said. 1 Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 14, 2011 Super User Posted October 14, 2011 Right on brother. By the way, you should be able to walk normally within 4-6 weeks depending on your type of graft and weight bearing restrictions. Once you're walking well you should be able to start fishing again as long as you're content staying in fairly level terrain. Best of luck with a speedy recovery. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Great story about catching the fish! And you are right, he is good! Quote
