For catching Bass in a river where strong current as well as good eddy water pockets. Both shallow and deep in places and you have a boat that can go most anywhere?

He's talking about dynamite.

For me, my favorite is a jig.

In any kind of river I'll be throwing some sort of texas rigged craw. My favorite is a chigger craw.

Lucky Craft GDS Mini

Are you talking about the one that runs a few inches below the surface or the one that goes8-10'? Does it have a feather on the back hook?

Do you ever throw the jig into the current or do you concentrate on blowdowns, stumps, and eddy water?

Anything that breaks the current up.

So even if the current sweeps by but breaks up a bit, you would throw it up river and let it drift to this point? We fish the blow downs and stumps, but i feel like we could be fishing more water, but not sure the fish are sitting in that heavy current.

I can't really spoon feed you that info - I don't fish your river - but you'll never know if you don't try something different.

We have a stretch of the river that is not as pressured that is above our lake. Most of the tournament fishermen stay farther down river and in the lake. There are tons of rocks and stumps and blowdowns and swift water. I guess my real question is what is a good bass lure for fast moving current...the Lucky craft crankbait that is listed above sounds pretty good. Thanks for your info.

Jig and buzz bait.

Buzz bait, just in the morning and evening, or have you experienced all day success at times?

I've had good success for smallmouth in faster water with a Lucky Craft Sammy and a shakeyhead with a finesse worm. The Sammy catches fish in the shallow, fast water and the shakeyhead is better in the eddies and areas near cover that breaks the current.

We have caught a ton of bass on the shakeyhead this year, what weight do you use for your shakeyhead? We had a 5 fish limit close to 12 pounds and finished 3rd in a tourney with a shakey head, we were using trick worm in the Green Pumpkin Red.

I have had a buzz-bait produce all day and also all night many, many times. My favorite colors are Black and also Cotton Candy.

One of my favorite ways to fish is throwing a weedless jig/no skirt with a berkley sabertail up the current and let it drift down to where the current breaks.Fish will almost always be there. You'd be surprise how tight fish will hold to that current.
