Went to one of my prime ponds this afternoon to do a little scouting for fishing swimbaits this fall and winter. This pond doesn't have a massive population of bass, but if I go there I have probably a 90% chance of catching a 5+. EVERY fish I have caught from this pond has looked like this. FAT, with a flawless body, and tiny mouth. These fish are feeding like crazy. This one went 5.2 and took about 6 minutes to land - she fought like a champ!

Got her on an XR50 Foxy Mama, Cumara 7'2 MH, Curado 50e, and 14# Sunline Super FC Sniper. Also missed one on a frog that was probably 8+.

I'm so pumped to throw the big baits this season.

Here's another example of the fish in this pond - this one was 6.4.

That's a prime pond indeed. Look how small their tails look in comparison to the body.

No doubt Dwight. Their mouthes are so tiny compared to the body. In most of my other ponds, a fish that age would be roughly 2-3 pounds, maybe more.

Rename it Chunks pond? or Hog Haven? Great looking fish. Past few weeks I've been tossing the frog so Hopefully you can land some 5+ like I have on it. They are a blast w/ that technique.

Great fish, no doubt. So did you get that swimmie set-up yet? I bought a Revo Toro Winch for my second swimbait set-up. Gonna use that low-gear for my hudds and other softbaits exclusively. You might want to look at those reels.
