BassHole5 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yes, Just call shimano, they won't have everything of course but they should have what you need Quote
gk Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 www.mikesreelrepair.com This site will have everything you need for your curado. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 5, 2011 Super User Posted October 5, 2011 Mike's is in Canada, and shipping might be a pain for you. http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/Repair_Services.html They should have parts for you, just call 1-877-577-0600 Quote
Super User .RM. Posted October 5, 2011 Super User Posted October 5, 2011 Whether or not you goto Mikes (expensive parts and costly international shipping) or the Factory. The CU201BSF was discontinued back in 1997. When the factory stops production of a series they also stop production of all parts not interchangeable with the newer series being released. Good Luck & Tight Lines!! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 5, 2011 Super User Posted October 5, 2011 They still service Curado B series. Here's a list of the reels they no longer service: http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/Repair_Services.download.-mainParsys-0021-downloadFile.html/PNLA%20LIST%202011.pdf That doesn't necessarily mean they will have the part(s) you need. You'll never know if you don't call them. I've gotten parts for 20 year old reels from a couple different manufacturers. Quote
baluga Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yup, just had my CU100B serviced by shimano last year and they practically replaced all the internal parts. They definitely still have those parts for some of the discontinued reels. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 5, 2011 Super User Posted October 5, 2011 They might not be selling them. It may also be a case of it being cheaper to have them do it, then pay for the parts and shipping and DIY. Quote

Very true, it's much cheaper to have them do it. They only charge me $35 for everything including shipping. If I compute for the cost of the parts: Pinion gear, drags, 3 bearings, main gear and anti-reverse bearing it would easily cost me more if I did it myself. Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 5, 2011 Super User Posted October 5, 2011 Most parts for the Curado 200BSF are compatible with Castaic parts, so as long as the Castaic is in production you´ll have a bunch of parts. Quote
sir sluggo Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 thanks guys. im glad that i wont have to get rid of it. Quote

And what part of, "Here's a list of the reels they no longer service:" do I need to reread? You need to reread what I said. Parts are available, I ordered a line guide and some bearings for a B just a few months ago. Quote
